Statistically Crazy

I have mentioned this on here before, I am a man of numbers.

I like quantity over quality when it comes to some of my PC's, I like having more followers than not on social media, I like more than one cup of coffee, I like keep track of streaks in sports, and I really like watching views on my YouTube and on my blogs.

But last month, I am not sure what was going on in the coffee botverse especially since I didn't post much in June, but numbers blew up for me astronomically on two of my blogs. All record breakers straight across the board.

Cards Over Coffee is usually a less than 12,000-15,000 view blog per month and it blew up more than two times that! The 3,649 views was also a daily high for this blog that usually averages about 300 on a post day.

Then came the absolute craziness of Sport Card Collectors.

The first shocking number was the daily record breaker. I think before it was like 10,000 or so views in a day. Well, let me tell you, over 75,000 views on that day. INSANE!

On top of that, it walloped my highest monthly total which oddly enough was around 75,000. This time it went for over 250,000. The blog normally averages about 20,000 since I don't really blog on it anymore which makes it even more impressive.

So far, this month seems to be back down to earth, maybe even a tad slower. Hopefully it doesn't stay that way. I mean, who doesn't want to come by to see what craziness I posted with some hot brew on here? I sure hope you do! Well, you must if you are reading this tonight (or tomorrow). Thanks for that.

Hope everyone has a great night.

  1. I'm a numbers guy also and those numbers are interesting for sure. I don't have a blog, so I have no comparison for you. Have a great night all and fill up your cup.

  2. Yeah, those bots jumped my views by about 26K in June. Normally, I get between 27-30K views, 56K in June. Definitely back to normal for all of July .......thus far.

  3. Looks like the bots were checking out my posts last month too. This month? Not so much. Honestly I don't value that information too much. However if they were actual visits from fellow collectors, I totally would be into tracking them.

    1. Yeah, I wished there was a way to separate it all out so I know how many true collectors were reading it

    2. How in depth do the blogger stats go? Or is it pretty much as you've shown in your screenshots? Often things like user agent, referer, visit duration, and strange visitor IP address patterns can identify bot traffic. Sometimes you need software like google analytics to help gather the metrics needed for a deep dive

  4. Yup, the bots were in full force last month. I don't check my stats more than once every 4-5 months but I just looked and June 21-22 had over 50,000 views each day. For the month it was 490,000. Still that's not close to last January when the blog had 144,000 in one day!
