Would You Rather? Autograph Edition

*takes a sip, sits down for today's latest post on Cards Over Coffee*

Welcome back to another Would You Rather? Today, I decided to go cardless on the topic and tackle one that's been on collectors minds for years.

The game is called, Would You Rather. In this series you will be given two choices and you must make one decision sort of like The Matrix. Each decision you make will also have a problem tied into it and you will have to decide which is the better of the two choices.

You will also have to live with your decision for the rest of your life...so make the right one.

*in a deep voice sitting in the dark*Hello Readers, my name is Mattpheus. I am the leader of the sport card universe and can offer you the control of your future.

I have two pills to offer you *holds hand out with both pills* that will lead you on your path today. Each pill gives you both an reward and a penalty.

Today, you can take the Red Pill and be stuck with only pull/buy on-card autographs, but each card has crease in the middle.
Or you can choose the Blue Pill and you can only pull/buy sticker autographed cards, but each one has a bent corner.

Make your decision below in the comments.

I will be awaiting your choice with my cup of coffee in the dark.

I hope you enjoy this new segment and I hope a lot of you join in on the conversation.

Have a great Friday.

  1. That's a tough one, but dinged corners really get to me, and nobody likes sticker autographs [although in general I feel like the quality in the penmanship of signing has really gone downhill]. So I'll take the red pill and live a life of opening Tools Heritage and archives [trying to remember what else has on card autos 😅].

  2. I'll take the crease over sticker autos any day!

  3. I guess I'll keep take the red pill and keep all my autos on-card. A crease or a bent corner is a bummer either way so it was the sticker vs. no-sticker that swayed me.

  4. Red pill. But if I had to stick to only buying or pulling on-card creased autographs... I'd probably just stop buying autographed singles. Luckily I've picked up a fair share of autographs over the past decade or so and would be content with not buying anymore (if it meant they had to be creased). As for the ones I pull from packs, they'd go straight into the Damaged Card PC.

  5. A little bent corner is no big deal if it's a star player. Can live with that much easier than a huge crease.

  6. My true answer, no doubt, is whichever one is cheaper!

I suppose if neither one is going to be in really good shape, I might as well go with the on-card autos. Not THAT much difference between a crease in the middle and a bent corner.

  7. Red pill--on card with crease and maybe the crease is not too bad

  8. Stickergraphs don't bother me. Creases do.

  9. Gotta go Red on this. I wish they didn't do the stickergraphs.

  10. I'm so used to seeing mostly sticker autos, that when I open a box of cards, there's a blue pill in a small packet laying right on top of the packs. Every time, darn it!
