Cards From Pops: Box 3

Coffee and cards. Could anyone ask for more?

*takes a sip*

Another day, another round of coffee and a card box I have dug through from a two-round lot trade with my father.

Let's see how this round went. This time there aren't as many photos as the box lacked a lot of, well, interesting cards.

But there were some that stood out more than others.

There were these 1976 Topps hockey Helmet and Stick Decals. These were pretty unique finds and not anything I have seen before. Roughly ten or so were discovered in the box.

Random autograph of Dustin McGowan.

Always liked these Cel win Predictor cards. I never once actually entered a predictor card.

Troy Aikman Greatest Hits insert /2500. These were randomly inserted in packs.

Then some more of those die-cut NASCAR die-cut window cards like I found in the first box,

(this Jeff Gordon was  really cool one)

I can't find a lot of information on these such as odds and how big the set is.

And then a bunch of shiny Upper Deck Championship Reflections,

(hold up three fingers as you scroll by)

I am not sure how many are in this set, but it appears I am well on my way to chase it. If any of you know, let me know.

There are two more boxes to show off still in this trade and definitely some fun stuff to reveal. I am though saving the best box for last and why wouldn't I??

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

Before I close, I also wanted to remind you of the Coffee Card Hall Of Fame voting and that it needs you guys to nominate cards in.

Details on the Coffee Card Hall Of Fame can be found HERE. I may add this to every post from here on out for a reminder as I will forget about this too! Haha!

Have a great Friday Night and be safe. Don't drink alcohol and make bad decisions, drink coffee and make bad decisions.

Blog Bat Around: Letters To The Hobby

This blog bat around is simple, just write a letter (blog post) to the hobby, to a player, to a card company, or something in general.

Here is mine,

Dear Card Companies,
I know I am not alone in saying this, but can you please bring back the days when you would show us where our memorabilia would come from!

I miss the days of being able to see a picture of where my piece of sports history came from. For example this latest card to my PC. It's cool to not only know that this swatch came from Veterans Stadium, but to also see a picture of the stadium it came from. I think one step more of showing a swatch of the field would have been nice as well.

But please just show us the jersey, bat, base, or whatever our relics are coming from. A picture speaks a million words.

To take this another step forward, I would also like to see a picture of the player signing cards/stickers. For authenticity sakes and that way, we know autopen or relatives didn't play a role, let's see them do the work. That isn't asking for much more. Especially since most backs are so bland now with just a guarantee write up and supposedly a company rep is there with the signers most of the time. Just snap a pic!!!! Same with celebrity autograph cards.

So, if any companies or reps from a company is reading this today, please make this move. I promise you collectors would be so happy and maybe buy more of your products. They just want to see what they are getting.

Sincerely your friend and helper,
Matt G
Cards Over Coffee

Now let me see what your letter is or who you will write to. Post a link below of your blog post so I can check it out when you make your post.

In the meantime....

Cards From Pops: Box 2B

Should I ramble on about Cards, Coffee and the second-second part of this box or should I just jump to the photos and let you see what I am talking about with Box 2.

I can see you nodding to move on without talking.

Good choice.

So, without any further delay, here is Box 2B and the remaining greatness from it.

(1:5 packs)

(1:12 packs)

(1:12 packs)

(very rare parallel finds)

(promo card)

(these are subsets)

(1:9 packs)

(1:13 packs)

(1 per pack)

(1:72 packs)

(1:144 packs)

(1:7 packs, could be a new set chase)

And now I can see your reaction from scrolling and you may want to close your mouth before your coffee drools out. It's a jaw dropper right? I know I had to keep my mouth closed when I went through the boxes the first time.

*takes a secured in mouth sip*

There are still more cards to show off from this trade and I wouldn't be surprised if another one of these boxes needs more than one part to show it off. I may have also saved the best box for last.

Before I close, I also wanted to remind you of the Coffee Card Hall Of Fame voting and that it needs you guys to nominate cards in.

Have a great Tuesday.
