Fluffy

It was a dark, cold and slightly rainy 7pm night as my wife and I sat outside at the two-hour away county fair in late August.

The temperatures were in the 40's, cold hit hard and shivers began as we waited for the show to begin knowing once it did, the cold won't be hopefully as noticeable.

*needed HOT coffee..why didn't the fair offer coffee*

The show started off very slow in the beginning and cold continued to set in. That's the problem with shows, they have opening acts and when they don't hit a home run, it makes you want that main act even more.

In coffee terms, it's like having creamer without the coffee.

Or in the hobby having a card wrapper without the cards.

But, then a little after 9pm...the moment we had been waiting for happened...FLUFFY appeared on the stage!

YES! We got to see the legendary Gabriel "Fluffy Guy" Iglesias live!

Before the show began, it was told we weren't allowed to video or take pictures during the performance, which stunk because the pictures would have been great.

However, in the final like five minutes of the show, they allowed photos and video. It went by very fast just like the show. But, it was amazing and it was worth sitting in the cold for.

After the show, I had to search for Fluffy autographs since they didn't have any available at the show. Usually all non-sport autos are for nostalgic reasons.
Found one. And I am a Looney Tunes fan so it's a double win.

This was the first show, concert or show, that I have been to in over 20 years.

Yeah, I don't get out much unless it's for coffee.

Well, I hope everyone has enjoyed this week of posts! I still have so much to catch up on.

Thanks for reading and Happy November!

In comments, let me know if you are a fan of Fluffy or if you have seen his stand-up live or what the best comedian is you have seen live.

  1. I have never seen Fluffy but have always been a big Looney Tunes fan. Rolling into November having coffee with Peppermint Mocha creamer. Enjoy the time all. "That's all folks!"

  2. Never seen a comedian live, but it sounds like a great time. I'm always caught laughing when I listen to a CD in the car, so I imagine live is even better.

  3. Big name comedians are kind of a toss-up for me. I love seeing their shows, but since I watch a lot of standup online I find I've already heard a lot of their scripted work by the time they swing through my area. The big names tend to stay away from the unpredictability and risk of crowd work, so there isn't a lot of spontaneity to be had. I probably would like to see Taylor Tomlinson in person, as her current show format is heavily dependent on crowd work. Although not a traditional standup performer, I would say Weird Al was one of the most satisfying I have seen perform in person.

Now, the best comedian I have ever seen was someone who who doesn't describe herself at all as a standup artist. I was on a cruise two years ago. Each day there was a suduko contest hosted by a crew member, and each day she would adopt a different persona with which to lead the event. On the final day she announced she would oversee the contest as a dominatrix before absolutely tearing into the contestants. She really leaned into the role, roasting anyone she felt was falling behind and even chased a few flustered contestants from the room. It was fantastic.
