*takes a sip, sits down for today's latest post on Cards Over Coffee*
Welcome back to another Would You Rather? Today, I wanted to challenge you a bit more.
The game is called, Would You Rather. In this series you will be given two choices and you must make one decision sort of like The Matrix. Each decision you make will also have a problem tied into it and you will have to decide which is the better of the two choices.
You will also have to live with your decision for the rest of your life...so make the right one.

*in a deep voice sitting in the dark*Hello Readers, my name is Mattpheus. I am the leader of the sport card universe and can offer you the control of your future.
I have two pills to offer you *holds hand out with both pills* that will lead you on your path today. Each pill gives you both an reward and a penalty.
Today, you can take the Red Pill and can ONLY collect your rival teams cards.
Or you can choose the Blue Pill and not collect at all anymore in any form.
Make your decision below in the comments.
I will be awaiting your choice with my cup of coffee in the dark.
DISCLAIMER:
Please don't take the red pill if you are allergic to it or it's ingredients.

I'll go with the red pill. Nowadays no player is untouchable or untradeable. So while I might not like collecting cards from rival teams, if that player later makes his way to my team [like Wade Boggs going from Boston to the New York] then at least I can still collect older cards of them prior to their arrival on my team.
ReplyDeleteGood point!
DeleteHmm. I don't really have a favorite team in any sport, but I'm sure I'd be able to come up with something similar to a rival team -- maybe "most annoying team". And I'd also do the red pill, agreeing with Oren's comment.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of teams i could put in that category
DeleteI would go with the blue pill. I would get no enjoyment collecting cards from teams that I hate. I would rather save my money and not collect.
ReplyDeleteGood point!
DeleteWait...what's the reward this time?
ReplyDeleteI certainly don't mind getting Yankees cards, but I don't think the hobby would be much fun if that's all I could get. I think I'd go blue.
The reward would be saving money from not collecting? lol
DeleteI have to laugh because we all know Topps is going to force Aaron Judge cards on everyone next year....
ReplyDeleteThey will put him in every jersey variation not knowing where he will land
DeleteThis one is easy. Blue pill. I collect cards, because it's fun. I can't stand the Yankees or Cowboys, but I have plenty of their cards in my collection... and I enjoy them. However if I could only collect their cards and nobody else's... that would NOT be fun. I'd probably end up spending my free time golfing or collecting something else.
ReplyDeleteI would do the same!
DeleteTake the red pill. The red pill and rival team cards would be the equivalent of a sacrifice made once a year, in order to preserve the ability to enjoy the other forms of collectables.
