Welcome to the next edition of 5 Things I Did In The Hobby Last Week. I am glad a few of you have reached out and let me know this is one of your favorite segments on here. I like information such as that.
But, for those of you that are new to this segment, here is the background to it:
This series is once again related/played on by Elon Musk's email to government officials in February 2025 asking them about what five things they did.
Also, once again, this is not about politics. I just liked the idea.
*its best to never post politics, make friends, not enemies*

1.As always, I did a lot more social media posts across my planet of them. I started doing Rodney Hampton, Eli Manning updates along with small mail day posts on there since it's much faster to send out a social media message than putting up a big blog post.
If you want to catch up on stuff you missed out on, here is a list of all of my social media channels:Cards Over Coffee YouTube Channel is for cards:
Cards Over Coffee - YouTube
Matt's World Of Fun YouTube Channel is for everything else:
Matt's World Of Fun! - YouTube
On top of this, I have two Facebook accounts, Cards Over Coffee and Sport Card Collectors,
Twitter/X: Coffee Card Guy
Instagram account: Coffee Card Guy
Bluesky as Cards Over Coffee
There you have that. Now go check me out on those!
2. I bagged up all of the cards to hand out to my girls basketball team that were both donated and from my own collection. They turned out to be a big hit!
Side note, my party went great even though I did blank handing out the custom shirts to them and trying to remember what I wanted to say about each girl.
3. I finally packed up a few PWE trades! I have so, so many more to mail if I can find the time.
I have a few bloggers I want to send to and a couple other friends. Hopefully can get to those soon.
4.I got rid of the stack of cards that were in front of my TV stand for months. Only problem is, I moved them from in front of the TV into a box to be taken care of at a later date. So, I got rid of one mess to make another basically. These are the cards I also need to add to my TCDB collection so I did keep them by their stacks to make that easier when I have time.
5. Since I made those PWE trades, I had to dig stuff out, which meant I had to put stuff away they weren't interested in. Usually I let that sit around forever, this time, I just took care of all of it without having to create the mess in my card area again.
And there you have it. Five things I did in the hobby last week.
I hope to keep this series going when I have time to post on it.
*takes this posts final sip*
Tell me five things you did in the hobby last week or make a comment on mine. I will make sure to read and comment back on all of them.
Have a great Thursday!

I can see where getting a grab bag of cards would be awesome. Last week I was busy with trades, and I found and ripped a pack of Absolute football.
ReplyDeleteTrading can keep everyone busy!
DeletePretty much the only thing I did this week aside from a couple blog posts was getting a few PWEs together, which I forgot to send and plan on doing this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI need to get more PWE's together, it takes time to do that
DeleteLet's see mailed 5 different bloggers cards worked everyday except Monday at Dollar General & manage to do some of my posts on my blog as well when I wasn't at my school job or DG when I should have been either eating or sleeping or spending time with my daughter & put away by any packages I received in mail oh & in between jobs restocking my 1 liter coffee supply since I was down to my last 5 bottles otherwise the 5 things I done was a normal thing to do
ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy life. I guess I can see why you need so much Pepsi to keep things going!
Delete1) I made it to the PO
ReplyDelete2) I cleared the cards off of my kitchen table--my daughter loves that!
3) I finished and -refinished the P's on my PC update.
4) I did phase 1 of the sort of my PC R's and some of them are already entered (doing Manny now).
5) went to the flea market to find some deals (found 2).
Just like my wife likes when I clean off the TV stand or bed from sorting cards.
Delete1. Wrote card blog posts on 2 different blogs
ReplyDelete2. Mailed out cards to people
3. Continued card room reorganizing, moving cards from binders to boxes, made possible by my blog card giveaways
4. Posted about cards on Bluesky
5. Wrote down some ideas for future blog posts
(in other words, same thing I do every week)
Man handing out card grab bags to kids sounds so fun.
I am about to unload a ton of cards again to my father which will clean up some room I desperately need.
Delete1) I went to a card show
ReplyDelete2) Bought cards for sets
3) Organized a few cards
4) Prepared and updated the blog
5) Sold some cards locally
I'll have to check out your YT channels
Sounds like a good balance of hobby with buying, selling and sorting.
Delete1. Went to the flea market in search of cards. Found some, but didn't buy any.
ReplyDelete2. Read & commented on a bunch of blog posts.
3. Watched or listened to a few hobby related YT videos while getting ready for work.
4. Opened a few eBay mailers and blogger care packages... and scanned some cards.
5. Opened a superbox of 2025 Topps Update in an effort to try and complete my set build. I came close, but fell a few cards short. I did pull a sweet gold parallel of an A's rookie though.
I need to get more cards out to you soon.
DeleteI should have used commenting and posting as my 5 things. I will save that for next week.
Nice job with the team. You can't always remember everything.
ReplyDelete1. Received a group of cards I bought.
2. Received a special surprise envelope. Thanks Johnny!
3. Sent out some cards.
4. Organized some cards.
5. Read and commented on some great blog posts.
Enjoy the time all!
