Coffee Break:2020-2021 Mosaic Basketball Blaster Box

*takes a seat with a basketball box in hand remembering just a year ago when no basketball could be found on shelves. takes a sip and gets ready for a new post on cards over coffee*

Yesterday, I mentioned how this was going to be a three-part break of Mosaic and that the next one I was going to do was a blaster box, well, here I am with that today.

Finding Mosaic football is almost impossible, but, finding the basketball version is pretty easy. Every time I go to Walmart there is at least some form of it there on the shelf. It's strange how the hobby continues to evolve. Last year you couldn't find a single pack of basketball and now that's all I can find. I am not sure if the last two rookie classes are garbage or if the popularity has slowed some or maybe the prices are driving people away, but something has changed it.

That doesn't bother me too much, I get to open basketball cards again.

Speaking of which...

Every blaster box of 2020-2021 Mosaic basketball comes with 8 packs of 4 cards each. Each blaster comes with 4 Mosaic Prizms and other shiny finds. Each blaster runs $35 each.

Once again, I was hoping to find that hidden Genesis gem.

*takes a sip, begins to rip*

Here are the key cards in this break,

The rookies I pulled.

Bang! Damon Lillard. I love the photography of this insert, I bet the Mosaic parallels look amazing.

Holofame Tracy McGrady

Silver parallel of Sabonis

Silver Mosaic parallel of Sabonis

Silver Mosaic of Elevate insert

And three green parallels, Haliburton, Love and O'Neale.

Well, that wasn't the best break. So far, my luck with Mosaic basketball hasn't been good. Once again, I really do like the parallels and the Bang insert.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

Tomorrow will mark the third post in my Mosaic breaks with a football hanger pack. Let's hope this time I found a winner especially since the football version is so hard to find.

Thoughts on my break welcomed in comments.

Coffee Break:2020-2021 Mosaic Basketball Hanger Pack

*coffee is hot and steaming from my cup as I sit down today with a pack to open. post set up is ready, coffee is being sipped, and pack is ready to be ripped. it's time for some cards over coffee*

I think by now most of my readers know my passion for shiny cards and how much I really enjoy opening products like Topps Chrome, Bowman Chrome, Prizm, and today's product Mosaic.

It took a little while for Mosaic to grow on me unlike the others. This year's version seemed to have grabbed my attention as I found myself intrigued to chase the case hit Genesis parallel cards. It reminded me of the 90's when you would try to spot that refractor in your pack.

Let's see if I have any luck in pulling one today with a 2020-2021 Hanger basketball pack.

*takes a sip, continues on*
In every hanger pack of 2020-2021 Mosaic basketball are two packs. One pack 12 cards with a mixture of base, inserts and parallels while there is also a bonus three card pack that includes three pink Camo prizm parallels. You can find these packs ranging from $20 and up.

*takes a sip, begins to rip*
Here are the two packs you find inside

I always save the parallel pack for last so here goes the 12 card pack. I found myself peeking a little to see if I found a Genesis, but I didn't. However, here are the key cards I did find,
Immanuel Quickley NBA Debut subset rookie

Kira Lewis Jr rookie

LeBron James Jam Masters

Will Barton silver parallel

Aaron Gordon Green

Now time to sip and rip the pink camo parallel pack,
Thaddeus Young

Kelly Oubre Jr

And Deni Avdija

Not a lot of special finds in this break, but I really do like the looks of the parallels and LeBron is always a win.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

This will mark one of three Coffee Break posts on recent Mosaic breaks. The next one I will be doing a blaster box of basketball and finish it up by breaking a hanger pack of football. I am hoping for better results with those ones.

In comments today, your thoughts on my break.

Have a fantastic Tuesday and drink some coffee for me.

Sweet Little Mail Day

Sometimes I will have a doughnut or two with my morning coffee, sadly not with this morning's cup, and other times it is a local tradition to dunk your doughnut in maple syrup when it's sugaring season. Otherwise known as the time for making maple syrup.

This year, my father-in-law was back at making maple syrup full force at the almost age of 75 spending countless labor hours in the woods and in the sugarhouse. He has been doing this his entire life.

When he makes a batch, he usually sends along a little sample for us to try. Sometimes we just sip on it and sometimes we dunk a plain raised doughnut in it.

This is usually the sample size he gives out in cups, and this is as much as I had along with my plain raised doughnut. Just so none of you don't worry that I haven't stuck to my diet plan, I am still doing good, but I am flatlining at my weight. I guess it's better than gaining am I right?

But when it's this time of year, it's a sweet tradition that I feel must continue diet or not. Some people, not this blogger, will eat a dill pickle with the maple and donut so it offsets the sweetness. I am more of a bread and butter pickle guy so eating sugar on sugar isn't for me.

I like sweetness, but not an overload of it.

Unless it comes in a form of a mail day and my most recent two from Oren had sweetness overload.

*takes a sip before moving on*

First up were these 1994 Score Gold Rush that fell one-per-pack. Normally I don't collect anything pre-1995, but these are an exception.

None of these were particularly players I collect, but they fit in my 90's PC.

Speaking of 90's PC, there was no shortness of that in these mail days either.

Score Changing Places Of Roberto Kelly

Complete Players of Manny Ramirez

Manny Ramirez Dugout Collection

Upper Deck Sp Marquee Matchups Manny Ramirez

Tomorrow's Legends of Manny Ramirez

Wave Of The Future Manny Ramirez (this was one of my most favorite designs for this insert series)

Score Hall Of Gold Manny Ramirez

(if you are wondering by now if I PC Manny that is a no, I actually don't like him but I do like 90's inserts)

Steel Power of Mo Vaughn

Back is numbered to 5000.

Sports Illustrated Year In Review 1997 of Roger Clemens.

Score Gold Stars of Albert Belle

Fleer Lumber Co Albert Belle

Topps All-Stars 96 of Albert Belle (shiny....)

And finally a card that looks 90's,
but isn't. This is a 2000 Upper Deck Pennant Driven Chipper Jones. Inserts and even base from the early 2000's were just as great as the late 90's.

Thanks again to Oren for the last two trades.

*takes a sip before closing up today's post*

Sweet syrup, sweet mail days sums up how March went for me. I am a little backed up on posts so this one is a little late coming, well at least the card portion. My father-in-law just finished up making the last batch of maple syrup on Saturday.

Thoughts on today's mail day show off, if you have tried syrup that is not made of corn syrup, if you have had doughnuts and syrup are welcomed in comments.

Hope everyone has an excellent Monday.

Coffee Break:2022 Topps Inception

Dealing with a little bit of a stomach bug today hasn't stopped me from posting for the first time in a week.

Nor has it stopped me from having a cup of coffee with today's post.

Today's Coffee Break will be a box of 2022 Topps Inception baseball which recently was released.

*takes a sip, gets ready to rip*
In every box of 2022 Topps Inception baseball is one pack of 7 cards. Each box comes two base card parallels and one autograph or autograph patch card. Boxes run roughly $175-$200.

BASE CARD:
The base card set is built up of 100 cards featuring today's stars and tomorrow's future.

The design this year is a bit wonky compared to past releases that had artsy looks to it. This background looks like something out of the 80's and 90's.

PARALLELS:
You will find two parallels per box and here are the ones you can find,
Green /125, Magenta /99, Red /75, Orange /50, Blue /25, and Inception 1/1.

I pulled two greens, but I don't see where they are numbered. Hmmm......Either way, that Gleyber is a sharp card.

HITS:

I don't have a lot of luck with this product with pulling top players, at least this year I pulled a non pitcher in Andrew Vaughn. The card is also an Orange parallel /25.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
Inception is a nice-looking product, but, if I was going to completely honest with you, buy into a box break on this one. There are some really tough boxes to swallow out there for the price.

Your thoughts on this product and my break welcomed below.

I hope my stomach starts to feel better as the day goes on, I am better now than I was yesterday. Maybe the coffee is helping.

Cards Over Tea

Move over coffee you are yesterday's news now....

It's time for some tea...

My pinky will be raised high as I sip away on this and talk about cards today on here.

Which leads me to my big announcement, I have officially given up on drinking coffee. No more for this blogger! It's all about the tea from here on out. With this announcement, a name change must come as well to this blog, it will now be called, Cards Over Tea.

Okay, you must know by now this post is on April Fools Day and I am not fooling anyone. Give up coffee....ha! That would be like flippers leaving product on the shelves or finding gold at the end of a rainbow. It will never happen.

I must also apologize for the lack of cards for today's post, hope you enjoyed it anyways.

In comments today, let me know what April Fools prank you have pulled on someone or the worse prank someone pulled on you.

Have a great Friday.
