800,000

I am a full believer in celebrating milestones in life.

I will celebrate those milestones whether they are big or even small ones because every one of those is a step forward in your overall chase of your ultimate milestone.

Celebrating them just points out that you are moving forward and not backwards.

On Saturday, my basketball team (yes that's me pictured still coaching at the buzzer and probably the only time you will ever see me included in a picture) won their third game of the season making us 3-1 in my first season as Head Coach.

But, the win wasn't the milestone I was celebrating, even though it was nice to win against someone who I considered to be my "rival".

For me, the biggest milestone was how well the girls played and have grown. Our defense was completely playing shutdown for the first time all year and they didn't look lost in their man-to-man coverage at all. We had a 22-9 lead heading into the fourth quarter before I benched the usual rotation of players and sticking out the younger, less experienced girls who hadn't made a shot yet which is why things got closer at the end.

That's okay though. They got their feet wet and overall my team did have another girl who scored their first basket and one that was so,so,so close. On the season, I have seven out of ten now who have scored. My goal was to get all ten. I have three games left to reach that goal and you better believe I will give it all I got to accomplish that along with continuing to grow their overall skills.

Now onto the main milestone I am here to discuss, the blog view count. A couple days ago, Cards Over Coffee hit the 800,000 threshold which isn't really that big in the scheme of things compared to my other blogs, but, it's once again a step towards my ultimate milestone which right now is a million.

That milestone may not be too far away. Looking back, the last time I did a post on the overall blog views was done back in June of 2025 where I sat at 400,000. This tells me the blog grew twice that in six months. So, in another six, I should be where I want to be. I am hoping by this blogs anniversary.

I just wanted to take a minute out and say thank you to those that read this blog. I appreciate every view, I read and reply to every comment and for those that help me complete sets and knock cards off my list, you are appreciated deeply as well.

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday. I will be spending mine doing school work, then trying to clean up the 16 inch snow mess and going to practice.

Busy day ahead.

  4. Congratulations on your accomplishments! Keep going forward one step at a time. We didn't get the 16 inches of snow, but it has been quite cold for 2 weeks and the rest of this week. We might reach 20 above next week. Stay safe, warm and enjoy the time all!

  6. Congratulations on the blog milestone and the basketball win. Sure hope all ten of your players make a basket. That's really cool that you're gonna let them play in an effort to meet that milestone.
