Worth The Year Wait

I have a circle of friends who I consider to be my top traders in the hobby which are the ones that I trade with most.

I also know some of them can't always mail right away, but I know when they do and when I get it, the wait will be worth it.

Just like my latest trade with @90snichefootballcard on Twitter. Bryan and I have been trading for years, roughly ten, and every time I get a mail day from him, it's incredible.

So, this one may have taken roughly a year, but it was so worth it.

Just wait and see.

*takes a sip of freshly brewed brew*

I won't be posting all of this remarkable mail day on here, you will have to check the rest out on Big Blue Cardboard so if you aren't following that blog yet, do so.

But here is what I will be sharing,

Bryan jammed packed this box with all of the goodies. There are actually more cards in here than it looks, I won't be posting them all because of this and just pulled out some for both blogs.

I have been wanting this Judge card as he is walking among the "happy little trees" and I really think he is actually a giant among them. I really, really want the Griffey like this as well. Do you have one? Let me know!!

Never wrong with getting a Judge refractor.

He is the ringleader of the Bomb Squad this year sending out bombs all over the ballparks.

One of my favorite insert designs over the years was Unleashed. For a while I was trying to chase the entire set for a variety of years, I gave that up but still have the ones I collected and will always take more in. I simply learned you can't collect it all.

I am not sure what they call this parallel, but I am digging it.

Panini should take note on how Topps still uses game used jerseys in their products and not this jersey wasn't worn by anyone at any time at any place in particular and was just printed off the presses. Sorry, it had to be said.

The next four cards I found exceptional.

A fun holiday chase. I wonder if there are more parallels in the run. I feel like it needs to be finished now. Either way, these make a great addition to my holiday PC.

And finally, for the part of the mail day I am posting on here, at the bottom of the box were two Gold Rush envelopes.

Before I show those off, I need some coffee.

*takes a sip*

The first autograph I thought about showing off on Big Blue Cardboard but decided just to keep it here to make it easier on me.
Joe Morris the 5'7 beast who helped the Giants win Super Bowl XXI.

Goose Gossage was in the other envelope. He has one of the nicest Yankee signatures other than Mariano Rivera (still need his).

Thanks Bryan!

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

This mail day was sort of like Christmas when it arrived since it took awhile, but if I can get one of these every year, once again wait until you see the series of posts on Big Blue Cardboard, it was well worth the year wait.

Have a great day everyone.

The Martian Has Landed

*sits down, has coffee in hand and a stack of cards. takes a sip, is ready for the latest cards over coffee post*
I am not sure how many of you were watching the skies a few days ago, but if you missed it, a UFO was spotted over Yankee Stadium and a Martian was left behind.

A Martian that can truly hit a baseball and it wasn't just talk all of these years.

Jasson Dominguez came out swinging in New York hitting a homerun in his first at bat, which is about the only thing exciting about this season for the Yankees. The future is bright in the city though.

Even though his numbers aren't complete fire yet, hitting .231 average with two homeruns, I think it was the right time to call up the kid and get his MLB career underway.

Even though I don't collect a lot of baseball anymore, just 90's inserts, Ken Griffey Jr, Aaron Judge, Derek Jeter and a few specific cards that catch my eye, I have been collecting Jasson Dominguez some since his first Bowman came out.

I thought to celebrate his MLB debut, I would show off some of my favorite cards from my collection of him...with coffee of course.

Yes, it's Panini card, but it's purty isn't it?

1st Bowman

1st Bowman Chrome Mojo (it's a nice looking card and I gave up Texas Rangers to acquire it so was all gain for me)

Once again, I know it's Panini, but I like the design of this one with the throwback to Donruss and the pinstripe relic.

Prospect Relic from Elite.

Upper Deck Goodwin included Dominguez in their product one year with autographs, base, parallels and relics like this one.

As soon as I saw this one a couple of years ago for trade, I jumped on it. This may be my favorite card of Dominguez I own.

If it wasn't for this one. This one has to be the favorite one right?

I have others that could have made the list, but I focused on the top ones. I have roughly 25 cards in my Dominguez collection which isn't big to anyone else, but I think it's a good one.

I just hope he keeps on hitting.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I haven't watched much Yankee baseball this year, but I hope they put a game on so I can see Dominguez swing at least once this year.

Thoughts on my collection, Dominguez, your collection of him, any other prospect you are excited about welcomed in comments.

I hope you enjoy your cup of coffee this morning and this post.

Sluggin' It

*coffee is ready, I am ready, let's do a new Cards Over Coffee*

I have stated this multiple times, but I don't collect a lot of baseball cards anymore as I am mainly focused on football collecting these days.

Which is odd since baseball was a big part of my collecting when I first started in the hobby.

But, that doesn't mean that I still don't collect some.

I still add Ken Griffey Jr cards when I can. I still add 90's inserts whenever I see them. Aaron Judge and Derek Jeter cards are always welcomed and I recently dove in deep and added to my Jasson Dominguez PC.

Here are my latest additions of the Yankees slugger who is having a great Spring Training.

And my first autograph add of the slugger :)

It's Leaf, but hey, I have one and this one sparkles.

I may not be sluggin' it with baseball cards as much anymore, but I do enjoy my pickups more because of that since they are more specific than football that is everything.

Thoughts on my latest adds welcomed in comments and I would love to hear if there is a sport that you used to collect more of but have dropped off from since.

Hope you have a coffee filled Tuesday.

*sits down and gets ready for another product review post on Cards Over Coffee. there are still other pre-published posts of these to come*

It's no surprise how hot 2022 Bowman has arrived in the hobby knowing how the hobby is turning into a money grab with everyone looking for the next big thing to flip.

For me, I just enjoy Bowman to find the latest rookies and possible future Hall Of Famers for my collection. I have been collecting rookie cards since I started collecting. It's just a fun PC.

So, let's see who I pulled in this hobby box break.

*takes a sip, begins to rip*

Every hobby box of 2022 Bowman baseball comes with 24 packs of 10 cards. Each box guarantees one autograph and boxes currently run $280.

BASE:
The base set design is the typical Bowman look. This years I feel could have transferred over to a flagship Topps design as well.

There are 100 cards in the base set featuring veterans,
And rookies.

Along with finding veterans and rookies in every pack, you will find yourself also submerged with prospect love with a mix of paper prospects and chrome versions. There are 1st Bowman, the most popular line, and regular for both.

There are 150 cards in each of the paper and chrome prospect base sets.

Atomic /150, Aqua /125, Gold /50, Orange /25, Red /5, and SuperFractor 1/1.

Bowman 3D! falls 1:18 packs and has 20 cards to collect.

Bowman Invicta (future product preview?) has 25 cards and falls 1:18 packs.

Bowman Scouts Top 100 has well....100 cards and falls 1:4 packs. Excuse my lack of cropping on this photo. My OCD is eating me up on this one.

Virtuosic Vibrations has 20 cards and falls 1:8 packs. Beach Boys Good Vibrations immediately comes to mind here.

Hi-Fi Futures comes with 25 cards falls 1:4 packs.

Rookies Of The Year Favorites falls 1:8 packs and has 15 cards to collect. I get such an 80's vibe from these, I dig it.

HITS:

1st Bowman Chrome autograph of Creed Willems. I don't know who this is...lol. This is also a Speckle Parallel /299.

Keep in mind with the autographs, that there are also some veterans mixed in to pull as well.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
The fun thing with Bowman is that you can't decide if you got your money or back yet. Right now, it may not be pretty. But, if you give this box break a couple of years, who knows?

I will say I liked this years Bowman inserts as they have been jazzed up some. I also like the fact that Jasson Dominguez continues to make an appearance in the product for my collection. Now I just need to track down the prospect chrome.

Thoughts on this years Bowman design and overall product welcomed in comments below.
