Love Is In The Air

Sometimes when there is love, there is pain. Today I am feeling the pain from my surgery yesterday. As I expected, the Urologist couldn't reach the kidney stone and I had a stent placed to help widen my ureters so they can reach the stone in two weeks.

TWO WHAT'S GOING TO BE VERY LONG WEEKS.

All I can say is imagine without too much TMI having to run to the bathroom every hour and a half, going to the bathroom feeling like you are letting go of acid while a mule or donkey kicks in you the kidneys and that's how I feel.

And I went all day yesterday without coffee. NO COFFEE is pain alone.

That changes today. Even though the pain from the stent is there, I was not going empty handed on the coffee end. Especially on Valentine's Day with an item I love.

*takes a sip, maybe kisses it*

Let's move onto something more positive, because today is Valentine's Day and love is in the air.

Have you ever just saw a card and immediately fell in love with it? Like you needed it and can't live without it?

I had that recently and I am sure you have as well.
When I saw this 2023 Leaf Pop Century Proof Walk Of Fame Kaleidoscope 1/1 of Chevy Chase, I knew I needed it for my PC of him.

The front of the card features like a star/space appeal that my lightbox couldn't even fully capture it's beauty.
The back of the card has a guarantee and a shiny appeal. I didn't undo the Leaf sticker to look closer at the back. My hobby OCD wouldn't allow such things.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

Before I close out today's post, I wanted to wish my wife a Happy Valentine's Day and that I love you. I am never sure which posts she reads or doesn't.

As for the rest of you, I love reading your guys comments and your input about this blog. So, I guess you can say I love you guys!

I also wanted to remind you of the Coffee Card Hall Of Fame voting and that it needs you guys to nominate cards in. Details on this again can be found HERE. I may add this to every post from here on out for a reminder as I will forget about this too! Haha!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday.

The Final Draft

*takes a sip, coffee is burning hot this morning, takes mini sips*

*feels hungry, grabs a small snack to go with coffee and to hold off until lunchtime*

*sits down, time for some Cards Over Coffee*

Recently, I have made more time in my schedule to be on here and create new posts from my drafts since I haven't had a lot of cards incoming.

The problem I am running into now is that today's post is the final post I have in drafts.

Where do I go from here? Maybe I wait until I actually get some mail days or maybe I try to create something from nothing?

We will see and see if the coffee kicks in so I can have some creativity flow through me so I can create some new content going forward.

For now, let's take a look at a couple recent, well not so recent, non-sport additions.

I have these Topps Heritage relics saved in my searches, why, well, they are unique. There are swatches of the USS Constitution (I totally want), shirt relics from American Heroes, Celebrities, Soldiers, Space, Stadium Walls, I believe the White House floor and plenty of stadium seats like the George W. Bush above.

The second relic is the latest addition to my Chevy Chase collection. It's from 2023 Leaf Pop Century and my first relic from the new product. There are other Chevy cards in the product, but for now just glad to have one of them.

*takes a sip now that the coffee is cooler before finishing up today's post*

So far, the few sips of coffee I have taken haven't completely worked my creativity flow yet. I also would leave the floor open to you guys as well to give me some suggestions on what you would like to read about.

In the meantime, have a great Tuesday. Drink a ton of coffee, buy someone a coffee and smile. Life isn't always easy, but life is life. You're alive today and that's a blessing.

My Rankings On TCDB

Good Morning! Well, if it's morning where you are reading this. I have my coffee in hand, ready to figure out what breakfast may be, and preparing for a new Cards Over Coffee Post.

*takes a sip*

I haven't been on here much recently because life has kept me busy and I really didn't have much to post about. It's hard when you don't really have a lot of cards incoming and you have been tearing apart your collection sorting to come up with anything creative and worthy of posting that hasn't already been shown off.

So on top of lots of sorting and re-organizing, I have been adding some player collections on TCDB (Trading Card Data Base). Not only does it make it easier for me to figure out my needs, but my favorite part is seeing my rankings among those who also have collections of the same players.

For the most part, I did pretty well.

I took the top spot for Victor Cruz.

Barely snuck up on the top spot for Darius Rucker.

Blowing away the field for Charles Way.

I have just a few Andre Williams, I also never added the duplicate relics/autographs I had. So this is straight up individual cards.

Have over a 100 card lead here with Rueben Randle. Another guy like Andre Williams I was heavily invested in.

Took the top spot for Chevy Chase.

And now onto some that I need to do some work on.

I still have a ways to go with Eli, but my first goal is to reach 1,000. I have added some recently that I didn't put on TCDB yet, but not even close to that goal yet.

I couldn't believe my lack of David Wilsons in comparison to the first-place person.

My lack of Amani Toomers is appalling to me and disgraceful to him. How could one of my Top 10 favorite NY Giants not have more. I really need to get on this and move up the board.

I believe I was within two cards of first place until recently. It appears I have some serious competition here to move up more.

Tied with John Starks, Allan Houston is my favorite NY Knick of all-time and yet I sit in 10th place here. Even fellow blogger Billy has a significant lead on me. I need to work on this collection, maybe Billy has some duplicates.

I still have a few players I really need to add on there, and maybe even Kerry Collins and Rodney Hampton who are only done through spreadsheets.

Thoughts on my rankings, what some of your rankings are and how many collections you have uploaded on TCDB welcomed in comments.

Now it's time to find some breakfast with the rest of this cup of coffee.

Cards Hotter Than Coffee

*cards in hand, coffee is ready and so am I for a new Cards Over Coffee*

*takes a sip*

2023 has started off hot in terms of additions to my collection and knocking off some cards I have been wanting for quite some time.

There have been some great 90's inserts and NY Giants cards I have knocked off the want list, but a lot of my bigger cards I have crossed off have come in form of non-sports.

Such as Zendaya's rookie card. I haven't ever watched the newer Spiderman movies, I am still stuck in Tobey Maguire days, but maybe I will finally watch them some day. Spiderman is my second favorite superhero.

Everybody Loves Raymond or should. There were two versions of this card to get, Jets or Giants, I think I made the better choice here. I was a big fan of his show growing up.

NO RESPECT! I feel ya somedays in the blogosphere Rodney. Easily one of my Top 5 favorite comedians.

Burt Reynolds autograph. This has been on the list for awhile now and it felt great to knock it off.

The Fonz! He also takes his time on his signature and it's great.

Let it go. Let it goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! If that doesn't get stuck in your head the rest of the day I did it wrong. I am not sure why I felt I needed this, but I did and it's a 1/1.

The first Caddyshack movie had such a great cast with Murray, Chase and Dangerfield that the second movie couldn't keep up. Oh, and these two were a big part of the cast as well.

I have John's autograph, why not add Joan too.

And yes, you are seeing that right, I added not one but two more Chevy Chase autographs to my PC of him. Now I have three and multiple relics and am beyond stoked about it.

And finally, a new relic for my Wizard Of Oz collection. I have the Scarecrow swatch and now a single hair strand from the Cowardly Lion. My hope next is to land the Yellow Brick Road relic card

Not pictured is a 1/1 Barbara Eden Leaf Pop Century autograph.

Like I said, I added some amazing non-sport stuff recently and I think you guys can see that.

I even just drooled out some coffee just seeing them again. Not on the keyboard or cards though, they are safe so no worries.

Thoughts on my additions, your favorite card from the group are welcomed in comments.

Time for another cup of coffee and to get on with my busy day.

Happy Weekend!

Chasing Chevy

*sits down after a long Christmas day, gets ready for new post on Cards Over Coffee*

*forgets coffee on the counter, how is that possible?, gets back up gets coffee, adds some leftover non-alcoholic eggnog as creamer and sits back down*

*takes a sip*

When I think about Christmas, I can't think about Christmas without thinking about Chevy Chase.

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is not only my favorite Christmas movie, but my favorite movie overall. And Chase, who I grew up already been a fan of, is lead.

For me, it only made sense to make Chevy a PC in my collection.

Up to this year, I only had an autograph card and some relic ones in my collection until I decided it was time to add upon that after doing some research and finding out he has plenty of cards out there.

251 to be exact.

*takes a sip before moving on with today's cards*
One of the first adds I did, was the Super Glow Blue base card. I thought this card looked really cool.

Next up, Chevy was featured in many of the 1992 Star Pics SNL cards. I have all but one of them now.

Weird thing is, despite being a big fan, I never once watched him on SNL. I wasn't really into SNL. I still not a big fan now but do enjoy a couple of the sketches I will watch time to time.

I need to add the final SNL card at some point.

Up next, a couple of 1994 Comic Images Boris 4 featuring two of Chevy's movies in art style. The top one is of him in the comedy Nothing But Trouble and the second one features him in European Vacation.

And my favorite adds and ones I considered to be his rookies, 1988 Hostess Hot Summer Flicks Stickers from the Funny Farm movie,

Pretty cool finds. I didn't know these even existed.

*takes a gulp to finish up the cup, gets another cup ready and takes a sip of eggnog then puts some eggnog into his mug for creamer again*

There are plenty of other Chevy cards out there that I need to add that are non relics/autographs, but there are also lots of autograph/relics I don't expect to ever add.

I currently reside as the #1 Chevy Chase collector on TCDB sitting 4 cards ahead of second place.

Thoughts on my adds and your favorite Chevy Chase movie/show is welcomed in comments.

Have a great day!

Missing

*sits down and takes a sip with much on the mind. takes another sip hoping that the sweet taste of coffee will take away some of the stress*

For the past couple of weeks, I have been desperately looking for a misplaced card in my house. I had it on my special card stand and cannot remember for the life of me where it went after I did some cleaning on the stand. Did I throw it away with some junk papers I had on there? Did I put it in a random box? Did it fall behind something?

So far, I have dug through all of the boxes I have used recently, for sorting, checked behind the obvious places it could have fallen, found the envelope it originally came in which was in the trash, so I searched the trash...with gloves on of course and I have also looked in other card stacks that were on that stand as well.

NO SUCH LUCK.

This is worse than the time that I mistakenly added sugar free creamer in my coffee. And that was pretty bad I may add.

*takes a sip feeling lucky that it doesn't have the sugar free taste*

I have lost cards before, who hasn't, and they usually pop up a few days later when I think of a spot they could be. This card is different. I have no idea where else to look as I have looked and re-looked everywhere possible. The even bigger problem is, it's not a card I can just go out and replace. It's a 1/1.

THIS IS THE ONLY VERSION OF IT!!!

It's the same amount of pictures I have of it. ONE.

This 1/1 printing plate features 6 comediens including my favorite, Chevy Chase. I took this picture a day or two after getting the card to send a thank you on Twitter to the person I traded for it from.

The picture is all that I have now. (plays Memories by Maroon 5 in the back of his mind before jumping to Take A Picture by Filter)

I have not and will not give up the search for this card yet, but at some point, I realize I will have to let it go. I cannot let it continue to consume my mind wondering where it went too much longer.

In comments today, let me know if there was ever a card you lost and if you ever found it.

Hope everyone has a Super Saturday.
