X-Rayd

With more snow on the way tonight, cold temperatures, it's time for some coffee and cards. I need a distraction.

*takes a sip*

This marks the fourth day in a row I have put a new post on here. This hasn't been done in a while and I am not sure how often this will happen, but this could be the last post of the week as the end of my week gets busy.

It doesn't help that I keep adding stuff to my schedule.

I just recently signed up to be a 3rd-4th grade girls assistant basketball coach. My first coaching gig. Coaching is something I have wanted to do my whole life, and God opened the door in the past week with the opportunity to do so, so I took it. Most of my life I would have turned down the chance and been too scared, but not anymore. If this year has shown me anything it's that life goes by too fast not to do something you want to do.

With all of the things that happened to me in 2024, who knows how long my road of moments will be and that goes for any of us. Have to take them when you get them.

*takes another sip, looks over the cards today, gets ready to post about them*

Another thing I learned in 2024 is that there is a variety of different tests that doctors can run on you, and I had my share of them.

In 2024, I had plenty of radiology visits with plenty of radiation. Surprised I am not a superhero by now. Coffee Man! Serving out justice one cup at a time!

*thinks about the outfit with a mug featured on the suit*

I had a variety of CT Scans, PET/CT scan, Ultrasound and a few X-Rays.

The only kind of cool thing about these tests is being able to see what things look like and function like inside of your body. I just wished they had used some of my images on Allen and Ginter instead of animals.

I could have filled a set myself.

Instead, Topps used animal X-Rays from the Oregon Zoo.

The cards are printed on plastic since X-Ray material would have just ripped in packs. The plastic used though still give these a realistic feel and look. The XRAY-D set is built up of 20 cards and falls randomly in packs of 2024 Topps Allen and Ginter.

These cards were on my list of wants from this year's product along with the rub and smells. Thanks to Oren for getting me a head start on chasing these with our latest trade.

Oren didn't just send the X-Ray cards, he also sent some other great Allen and Ginter cards and

this sweet hologram!

Thanks Oren, I hope you like your return!

Now the countdown to tonight. My basketball coaching debut happens as we are holding our first practice. Hope things go smoothly and hope the snow can hold off until practice is over.

Not sure I will bring coffee with me yet. Probably not on the first practice.

Have a great Wednesday.

  4. Nice find on the open door. I started coaching when I was 15. I'm still coaching today at 62. The last 15 years has been coaching a local Special Olympics delegation. I'm one that is glad for the advance of medical technology. My family is doing well because of it. Wind is blowing, snow is falling, cup is empty, and happy Wednesday through it all!

  5. Congrats on the coaching gig, it's a lot of fun, and I'm sure you'll do well. The first two years after I graduated H.S. I came back as a walk-on coach for the hurdlers on the track team. I loved every minute of it.
