Not Needing As Much

Today was a four cup of coffee kind of day, so don't mind me being on cup number four tonight while I am typing up this post.

I wouldn't suggest those of you who are lucky enough to have caffeine to drink one this late, save this for us tortured decaf souls to do.

*takes a sip*

With the recent release of Allen and Ginter, I began making my list of must have non-sport cards like I do every year.

The good/bad news out of that is that the list is not as long as it used to be. I am not needing as much.

As Topps shifts its focus to apparently a younger audience, Allen And Ginter is being filled with influencers and musicians I have never heard of which is leaving me with a smaller list of needs.

I found this out when I recently got my recent trade mail day with blog reader and friend, Oren. He sent me a healthy stack of Allen and Ginter non-sport and I really didn't know most of them.

A few yes, but I could only tell you I know the name and not what they sing or what they are from. Out of that stack these are the only ones that I knew best.
Dude Dad. I only know him because my wife introduced me to his reels on Facebook. Pretty funny guy and I enjoy his content.

Jason Aldean. Can't tell you any of his songs since I don't listen to country, but he is a big name. I am kind of surprised they haven't added Taylor Swift to a product yet. We all know that's coming.

Travis Scott. I know the name, not the music. I think Topps did a product of him to?

Jeff Probst, host of Survivor. I don't watch reality TV since it's all fake, but a name I know.

With all of these above added including the ones from the stack, I am just wanting these,
  • Danielle Fishel base, minis, parallels (wished she had a relic) (it's Topanga, must have. Though she wasn't first on my 90's crush list. That belonged to Amy Jo Johnson, the Pink Power Ranger who still looks just as good today)
  • Will Friedle base, minis, parallels, autograph, relic. (another Boy Meets World alum, one of my favorite shows growing up)
  • Dude Dad base, relic, autograph (my wife's a big fan and I like him as well, so would be fun for her to have to)
That's it.

Obviously, I will take on any other non-sport that comes my way from the product especially stuff I don't have, but these are my most wanted and will have my main attention.

Hopefully I can add some of these and narrow down my wants. I don't need to keep adding to my overly long want list.

If you have any of my needs, hit me up at my email, sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Thanks again go Oren for our latest trade. Looking forward to the next!

*takes a sip before finishing up*

I am almost to the end of my cup and need to hit the hay. I may not be needing as much sleep as I used to, but I still like to get some.

Have a good night sleep.

  3. Two things I know about Mr. Scott:

#1: Some of my students enjoy his music.
#2: He collaborated with McDonald's a few years ago... and his burger was pretty yummy.

  4. 2023 had Rafael Nadal and Robert De Niro - for 2024 Chuck Norris seems to be the biggest star.

  5. If it makes you feel any better, I only recognized the last name.
