*coffee in left hand, pain meds in front, takes a sip, takes pain meds, begins to write*
Hey! Did you miss me? I hope so! I should be back a little more as things have slowed down a little but will be picking up more soon. I will try to fit posts in between.
Here are some things to recap the past few weeks I have been MIA.
There has been plenty of coffee. Plenty. I picked up one of these Dunkin' iced buckets for a friend and strapped it into my front seat. This was before surgery and was also the last bucket available. I really wanted one just for my collection but maybe next time....if there is one.
For the first time ever, I have grown Lupin and a good amount of it spread across two flower beds. Hopefully the seeds will fall and more will appear next year when I can give my garden more love.
I went and got my shoulder fixed. Mild tear in the labrum, tendonitis of the rotator cuff and something with my bicep where they had to unattached and reattached it. I have a long summer ahead of rehab and can't do much for three months. Hopefully I will be at 100% by the time basketball season starts.
I took two summer classes I found to be fun, but also challenging when you can't move that well. I took Drawing 1-I can't draw but here is an example of a charcoal piece I did so be nice-and Creative Writing which has been a lot of fun, but once again a bit challenging to type since I only have one arm that can move around well. Though the last couple of days, especially today I have been able to move it more.
And the final thing I haven't mentioned yet is HOW ABOUT THOSE KNICKS!!! I will show off how I celebrated that impressive victory as well.
I hope you all have been doing well. More card posts to come this week as I had some drafts prepped and ready to go before I went full surgery.
Have a cup with me this morning!

Daaaang. Heal up quick and get back to it. Those Lupin are beautiful, nice job.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was excited about the lupin! Some are still blossoming.
DeleteNever heard of a Dunkin iced bucket nor Lupin, but I know shoulder trouble. Congrats on getting it fixed and for taking some courses to expand your mind and creativity.
ReplyDeleteI did think: hey it's been awhile since I heard from the coffee card blogger.
The courses I took were also electives I needed to graduate as well so figured I would take some fun ones.
DeleteYea, I am back for now!
Speedy recovery
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeletePraying for healing and successful rehab. Coffee is good and those Lupin are very nice looking. Writing and Art were never my biggest interest area. Keep moving forward in everything you do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the prayers RJ!
DeleteHoping for a smooth and easy recovery!
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt!
DeleteHope your rehab is successful. That Dunkin bucket is really cool. If I had known about it, I would have grabbed one too. Nice job on the charcoal drawing. One of the things I plan to do when I retire is take classes at the local community college. Drawing, photography, and California history are the three classes at the top of my list. And congratulations to your Knicks!
ReplyDeletethanks all around! I hope the rehab goes smoothly. I want to use my arm again.
DeleteGet well soon! Having shoulder troubles of my own, hoping physio will help solve it
ReplyDeleteThanks Derek. If ever in doubt, get an MRI and get it fixed if need be. Will be worth it. I gave it a year and that was a year too long before deciding to get it fixed.
DeleteGood call. Denial only goes so far. I asked physio today what they thought because I felt like we were just treating symptoms with little improvement. So I've made an appointment with my doctor. Same shoulder I dislocated a decade ago (and totally healed up at the time), probably related.
DeleteIt sounds like my situation. PT didn't cut it. I had an updated MRI that confirmed it needed more done and I just went with that and got it done. Even though I knew it would be a long stretch of healing, I still did it.
