You thought 2024 was over, didn't you? Well, not quite yet on here.
I still have some loose ends to finish up before I move on with this year.
But even before that, I need my coffee.
*takes a sip*
Today's post comes thanks to an idea from Night Owl Cards who took the idea from Diamond Jesters. I wanted to make sure to backtrack this correctly.
I have never done a recap post like this one on here before, but I loved the idea and may do this post going forward.
Let's start:
- This is my 13th year blogging overall but going into my fifth year here on Cards Over Coffee. I have done some on and off postings on Sport Card Collectors (my original blog) and Big Blue Cardboard (my NY Giants spinoff blog) but have mainly focused on this blog the last few years. The only thing that keeps me going back to Sport Card Collectors is the numbers. Every post there gets 100+ views while this one gets less than half of that per post and I keep going back to Big Blue Cardboard because this blog doesn't do well with NY Giants posts.
- This blog had 151 posts last year, which was 44 more than the previous year but not as many as 2022 when I had 200 which is the highest amount on here.
- The month with the most posts was January with 23 which is followed up with May with 21. The least amount was October with 2 as both September and October I kind of took off from blogging.
- The highest viewed post last year was The Blogger National with 234 views.
- I don't have exact notes on the most commented post of last year as I replied to every comment, but I will say I had roughly 4-5 comments per post which is a yearly average high for me on here.
- This blog has 72 followers. Which is +3 from the previous year. My goal is still to reach 100 on here by year's end.
As for blog stats, I don't quite know how to read this chart and how this is broken down, not sure if it's views per month or what, but it appears this blog was on the rise in 2024. Which his good and has been the goal.
I don't have the card breakdown for last year for what I added to my PC, I am not that organized, and I had so many cards coming in and leaving through trading it would be impossible to fully track just like how many cups of coffee I had last year.
Well, there you have it. I think we are good with 2024 now and can finally move onto 2025 on here. I will do it again next year.
I hope everyone has a great Wednesday. Drink that cup of coffee.
*final sip*

BASKETBALL UPDATE: We won our first game on Saturday 30-8 with the first half of the team, then lost the second game in a heartbreaker 13-12 after having a 10-4 lead at halftime with the other half of the team. There are definitely things to work on, but some huge improvements as well. Tonight is practice and that's exactly the plan.
As I mentioned on Night Owl's post, I'm glad to see someone else doing this. It's fascinating to see how the numbers change year after year.
ReplyDeleteNice recap. I don't have a "year in review" for my card blog, but I have it for my regular non-card blog. For me that is a bit of a ritual even though I had major downtime in blogging last year due to medical issues. In recent years my numbers have been low mostly due to lazyness and since it is a normal blog coming up with interesting posts has gotten more difficult. I also don't like to advertise too much of my private life online so sometimes doing a personal blog is a bit ironic. My card blogs I never really thought of doing a year in review as my collection is not well organized and has been more of a hoard for many many years. Now age is starting to become an issue.
