2025 New Year's Goals

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

It's officially here. It's 2025 and I am on my very first hot cup of joe for the new year.

This year is all about fresh starts and accomplishing goals.

So, let me talk about some of those goals.

For life, I just want to be healthy and in order to do that, I need to eat a little better and lose some weight. I think ten pounds for the year will be a good goal.

For hobby, that list is a little longer as I didn't have a lot of time for cards in 2024.

  • I need to sort out all of the cards I acquired or had taken out of binders in the last few months. Which is a fair amount.
  • Put those cards away once they are sorted
  • Start to finish some of the sets I started especially the 90's ones. I need to update all of the numbers and do some more unfinished cup posts on here to see if anyone can assist with those needs.
  • The binder numbering project needs to be finished. I have another two shelves to finish at least. This project is just numbering a binder and adding the contents to a notebook
  • Penny sleeve everything I haven't yet. This will take some serious time as I need to go back through some boxes to do this
  • Binder my Eli Mannings that haven't been put away yet, fix the rest in the box
  • Clean up my card room. It's just a mess. I need it better organized to get to what I really need to get to.
  • Do some giveaways as I haven't ever really done any on here.
  • Up my PWE trades especially among bloggers. If you are interested and have some non-sport, Ken Griffey Jr, Patrick Mahomes, Caitlin Clark, NY Giants, football rookies (can be vintage), 90's inserts/parallels from any sport, team, player and is 1995-1999 (shinier the better) and have a U.S. address, hit me up at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.
For PC:
  • Reach 1,300 Eli Mannings. This is a very lofty goal. I haven't even reached 1,200 yet.
  • Add some of my most wanted non-sport autos such as Ed O'Neil, Tony Danza, and Jon Heder.
  • Try to fill in Rodney Hampton gaps of 2023 products. Many still on eBay sitting there that need to find a way to my collection
  • Add more to my "other" PC's to move me up the TCDB board. Allan Houston, Micheala Shiffrin, etc.
For blogging,
  • Decide if I can fit blogging into my schedule and continue blogging
  • Come up with new creative content
  • Take away the sipping breaks and behind the scenes content?
  • New blog layout?
  • Come up with new segments
  • Reach 500,000 views
  • Reach 80 followers
  • Blog my Giants cards on Big Blue Cardboard since they don't fare well here? Reader's thoughts? Also goes with #1 on this list with time.
I will do a few posts throughout this year and update this list as time goes on to check my progress. That way it will keep me accountable for my goals.

Let me know your thoughts on my goals, especially the blogging ones. Have any ideas on what I should add or take away or something you are interested in? What about my NY Giants cards? Should I post those on Big Blue Cardboard or keep them here? I am always welcomed to feedback.

Unless your feedback says to stop drinking coffee. I will ignore you on that one.

Have a great rest of your day.

  2. I applaud you on doing goals. Progress on anything is always good. I'm always willing to trade because it helps me get cards to people that they want. A new pot is just finished. Time for a refill! Happy New Year.

    1. I went a year without goals and didn't like it. So goals it is!

  3. Happy New Year Matt! Best of luck on your hobby, PC, and blog goals. It's sort of up to you on the blog choices. I know when I write posts outside the realm of baseball, my views dip as well. I just don't write about those sports as often and typically combine them when I do.

    1. I have learned to do that to and not use a name that refers to that sport

  7. You gotta have goals! Perhaps just post everything in the one blog. You'll worry about keeping up content for 3 blogs and burn yourself out. Hope the new year is fun and productive for you!
