Need To Finish A Project

*coffee is ready, cards are by the side and computer is on. time for some cards over coffee*

I am starting to feel like my father-in-law. I start projects and never complete them.

It took him many years and some extra pushing from his wife to finally finish building our house. Which is something he worked on mostly alone for two plus years. But he has also started many projects around his own home which have spent years of sitting there. Things such as window frames in a newly updated bedroom incomplete. His workshop floor that has been needed to be replaced, but only half has. A bench he started to build. Some clearing out of bushes that never got accomplished. His sugarhouse needing upgrades and so on and so forth.

Looking at all of his unfinished projects made me look back on my own hobby ones. I am no handy man, I can't even put a screw in the wall, so the only projects I seem to start and never finish are hobby related.

All of my player collections. All of my rainbows. All of my set chases. So many left undone. All of my sorting and re-sorting that needs to be done. Soooooooooo much.

Which is why I post some of my needs on here just in case anyone out there has the help I need.

Most of the times I strike out as I collect stuff that most bloggers don't. However, sometimes I get lucky and by lucky I mean meeting someone cool like Greg from Plaschke, Thy Sweater Is Argyle who has a lot of similar interests as myself when it comes to collecting non-sport cards.

So much so that he completed a Master Set I could only dream of completing, the 2013 Press Pass Parks and Recreation.

I got deep into Parks and Rec about three years ago when I went binge watching. Such a funny show with humor that hits. Well, except the last season. That to me was a disaster and they should had ended it the prior season.

Anyways, the set for Parks and Rec included a 90-card base set with 90- card silver parallel to the base set as well. There were no inserts but a very solid autograph and relic checklist.

With my chase to accomplish my dream of trying the Master Set, I actually jumped right into the autographs narrowing my search down to four. Then I went and completed the single relic set. Then I went to try and finish up the base and silver parallel set which I traded with a guy on Twitter who almost had a full set of each.

This is where Greg comes in. He had some extra cards kicking around of base and silver parallel and emailed to see which ones I needed. After a few exchanged emails, he generously helped me out and I was able to cross off a few needs to the chase.

Here they are,

Now I am just needing the following to finish up the basic part of the chase,

Base:
6

Foils:
1,5,10,19,34,51,64,77,79,82,87,89

As for the aforementioned autograph chase, after many trades, I am down to the four impossible ones. I won't ever have funds for them so it will be just a strictly trade kind of thing.

Here is what I have,

Here is the checklist and what I need to finish this,
  1. Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope
  2. Aubrey Plaza as April Ludgate
  3. Aziz Ansari as Tom Haverford
  4. Fred Armisen as Raul
  5. Jay Jackson as Perd Hapley
  6. Jim O’Heir as Jerry Gergich
  7. Megan Mullally as Tammy Swanson
  8. Mo Collins as Joan Callamezzo
  9. Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson
  10. Parker Posey as Lindsay Carlisle Shay
  11. Paul Rudd as Bobby Newport
  12. Retta as Donna Meagle
  13. Rob Lowe as Chris Traeger
Now onto the relics. I finished the single relic set, however, there is a 4-card dual relic set, and a 2-card triple relic set if my research is correct. I don't have any of either of those yet. Once again, probably another impossible chase.

If only I was into the show back in 2013 when the product was basically being given away. I heard boxes from hobby shops were literally $35 a box. Wow.

Thanks goes out to Greg for his big help in my chase. Check out his blog for cool cards like these and more. I linked you above.

Hopefully I can at least finish the base and silver sets now. It would be nice to be able to say I finished a project then maybe brag to my father-in-law though he may not see it the way I do.

But it would be one project more than he has done recently.

Have a Magnificent Monday.
