1.5 Million

It's been awhile since Cards Over Coffee celebrated it's last view milestone, one million happened back in May, but I am happy to report that sometime during my extended break this blog hit the 1.5 million view threshold.

I just wanted to make sure to shout out this great moment as this blog has continued to grow this year. It may not be close to the seven million plus that Sport Card Collectors has, but this blog also never had daily posts and was around during the peak times of blogging so I feel this is still quite the accomplishment.

I also wanted to tip my very hot mug towards all of you who continue to read my gibberish even when I take extended breaks from posting. Especially since blogger is continuing to be broken so you may not be seeing these newer posts.

Today's post isn't a long one, but just wanted to thank all of you again for your support. I have a busy day ahead with watching two soccer games, a football game and homework.

I will now leave you with my favorite Caitlin Clark card that I added during my long break.

Ps: I chose a basketball card for this post since next week I will be holding open gym for girls grades 5th-8th grade. I was invited to do so and was the only coach to grab it. I did afterwards ask my assistant from last year to join which she was happy to. So add coaching back into the mix along with my already packed schedule.

Card #600 Of 2026 Has Arrived

It's here!

Card #600 of 2026 is in hand and sitting next to me.

As I said with Card #500, these cards may or may not be something mind blowing.

Today's is a simple Stadium Club base card of Derek Jeter from 2025 Stadium Club.

This is my first look at 2025 Stadium Club thanks to my buddy Grady M. The weird thing is that these base cards have gone way downhill. He included a few in the box of cards I got from him, and I feel the photography wasn't like it once was and the base cards are made of toilet paper. What happened to the card stock on these? It's non-existent. But I had a feeling Fanatics would find a way to mess up cards.

Let me know your thoughts on 2025 Stadium Club if you had any in-hand. Would love to hear your thoughts in comments!

Other than that, have a Super Sunday!

Six

*coffee is brewed and ready for this momentous occasion!*

*takes a sip*

Six years ago, I said, "hey, this is Covid, we are stuck at home, we have nothing else better to do why not start up a new blog?" I went back and forth on it and glad I never went back. Cards Over Coffee has been a lot of fun since Day 1.

I was looking for a new outlet since Sport Card Collectors was slowly dying off and I felt at that point there really wasn't a full way to save it. The idea was that an outlet was going to be the new way to keep on blogging and Cards Over Coffee was the way.

It was a way to combine my two favorite things, cards and coffee, while also being able to have conversations on both.

Sadly, the blog has taken many shapes over the years, I still feel the first two years were my strongest on here, but it still chugs away (see what I did there?) and I still try to be as creative as possible hoping that everyone will come back and keep reading.

One of these years the big goal would be to win Blog Of The Year, it has come close a couple of times on a couple different sites, but just to be able to continue on is really the main course right now. With school, sports and life taking up a lot of time, blogging has been on the backburner. I am still passionate about doing it and still feel like I can, but it will have to be at times that works best for me.

However, this blog wouldn't be worth writing if it wasn't for you guys the readers who come back and read every post I put up. The comments may not always be there, but I can still see it's being read and I thank you for that.

Here's to a great sixth year going on seven. Thanks for reading, sipping and talking about Cards Over Coffee with me.

In comments today, let me know your favorite types of posts to read on here.

Also, quick side note, Happy Birthday to one of my best blogging friends on here, Wes!!!!! If you have contact info with Wes still, don't forget to wish him a Happy Birthday!

Card #500 Of 2026 Has Arrived

*coffee is ready, takes a sip*

*feels refreshed*

*gets to posting*

Well, I am not sure if you guys will be ready or not, but I will be going on a streak of these kind of posts just to get caught up on them.

I finally have updated my numbers fully on here now, so with every milestone I hit, I made a note of which card arrived or was counted at that time. Some will be base cards, some may be cool cards.

So, let's get to celebrating Card #500 for today.

I have been wanting this base card for some time now and finally am happy to have it. This has to be one of the coolest images ever used on a base card. The fact it looks 3D jumping right out at you and even gets onto the border of the card which I have never seen before, this is a winner.

This is the way to celebrate a 500th card of the year.

Now, I want to know in comments. Is this the best base card photo you have seen or does one overrule it? Let me know in comments if you agree and if you don't, what card you would choose.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

800,000

I am a full believer in celebrating milestones in life.

I will celebrate those milestones whether they are big or even small ones because every one of those is a step forward in your overall chase of your ultimate milestone.

Celebrating them just points out that you are moving forward and not backwards.

On Saturday, my basketball team (yes that's me pictured still coaching at the buzzer and probably the only time you will ever see me included in a picture) won their third game of the season making us 3-1 in my first season as Head Coach.

But, the win wasn't the milestone I was celebrating, even though it was nice to win against someone who I considered to be my "rival".

For me, the biggest milestone was how well the girls played and have grown. Our defense was completely playing shutdown for the first time all year and they didn't look lost in their man-to-man coverage at all. We had a 22-9 lead heading into the fourth quarter before I benched the usual rotation of players and sticking out the younger, less experienced girls who hadn't made a shot yet which is why things got closer at the end.

That's okay though. They got their feet wet and overall my team did have another girl who scored their first basket and one that was so,so,so close. On the season, I have seven out of ten now who have scored. My goal was to get all ten. I have three games left to reach that goal and you better believe I will give it all I got to accomplish that along with continuing to grow their overall skills.

Now onto the main milestone I am here to discuss, the blog view count. A couple days ago, Cards Over Coffee hit the 800,000 threshold which isn't really that big in the scheme of things compared to my other blogs, but, it's once again a step towards my ultimate milestone which right now is a million.

That milestone may not be too far away. Looking back, the last time I did a post on the overall blog views was done back in June of 2025 where I sat at 400,000. This tells me the blog grew twice that in six months. So, in another six, I should be where I want to be. I am hoping by this blogs anniversary.

I just wanted to take a minute out and say thank you to those that read this blog. I appreciate every view, I read and reply to every comment and for those that help me complete sets and knock cards off my list, you are appreciated deeply as well.

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday. I will be spending mine doing school work, then trying to clean up the 16 inch snow mess and going to practice.

Busy day ahead.

300

*takes a sip before sitting down for today's post. it's another milestone post so gotta celebrate with bagel and coffee in hand. let's go!*

*takes a bite*

*takes a sip*

Today marks post #300 on Cards Over Coffee.

Sometimes I can't believe this blog has continued on this far. I have been so back and forth every day on whether to let it continue on or just leave it with a happy ending.

Looks like for now, it has reached 300 posts.

While I have your attention as well, I wanted to show off the Coffee Card Hall Of Fame box I will be using once I get a few tweaks done on it.

Obviously being a Coffee Card Hall Of Fame and a coffee card blog, I had to choose a coffee box. This one also features New York so thought it was fitting.

Thinking the "Open Here" is how I will "Induct" the cards into the Hall. I will have to sit down and think more about it and what else I want to do with the box.

Speaking of Inducting cards, I also wanted to remind you guys to nominate cards to be voted on. So far all of the cards nominated would make it in. Keep in mind that it doesn't have to be a huge box break pull or box pull in general, it can be from a mail day. Just anything you think is cool, rare, unique, something Hall Worthy you would put in your Hall Of Fame.

Thank you to all of you who have come and read the last 300 posts. I hope to see you come back and read more.

*toasts coffee mug towards you, hoping for a return toast*

Have a Wonderful Wednesday.

In comments today, let me know your favorite post so far in the past 300 and what you hope to see coming up.
