Christmas 2025

As I wake up looking like this today, I just wanted to put up a quick post and wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!

Hope you have your coffee nearby.

*takes a sip*

Well, I have the coffee for today's post covered, but what about the card part.

For that part of this post, I wanted to share my collection of unopened Topps Holiday Mega Boxes from over the years.

I have no idea why I am collecting them unopened now, but I am. So far, I haven't been very tempted to open them but you never know what can happen on a rainy day, though I would probably regret doing so.

I also regret not having unopened ones from the years they first started. Maybe someday I will add them.

*takes a sip with wishful thinking on landing 2017 and 2018 with Judge and Ohtani in them*

Even though I may wake up like the Grinch on Christmas morning, mostly because I feel green, bloated and tired. Once I get my coffee into me I turn into....

Clark Griswold afterwards. The family man. The man who loves Christmas. The man, the myth and the legend who is making memories.

I hope all of you have a great day and hope you find all of the cardboard you asked for under the tree. I know I have a couple blogger friends who sent me some wonderful gifts I will have to share at some point.

A Few Of My Favorite Things

*coffee smells good, cards are ready, laptop is fired up, it's time for some Cards Over Coffee*

19 DAY TIL CHRISTMAS

I have posted a variety of my Christmas cards so far, but I haven't really posted a lot of Topps Holiday baseball which is the main chunk of my collection.

Most of it is base, but I do have some of the short prints which are the cooler cards from the product other than the Santa hat swatches. At least in my opinion.

So, I thought I would show off a few of my favorite things...well cards.

*takes a sip*

*read the following to the tune of My Favorite Things*
Santa sack on Cavan.

Francisco with presents.

Ohtani is gifting.

Altuve is swinging.

and Soto with trees and these are a few of my favorite things.

When the Topps Sp come. I collect them. I will binder them. Because they are a few of my favorite things.

*end tune*

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I do have other Sp's but most are pretty similar to the above ones.

I will say between all of them that my favorite is the Soto. It may take some extra creativity to beat that one in my eyes.

I hope everyone has a Wonderful Wednesday. We are one step closer to the weekend and to Christmas.

They Wanted A Peek

*sits down, takes a sip and gets ready for a new post on Cards Over Coffee*

I thought before I dug into today's post, that I would show off this really cool coffee mug my wife got for her birthday in March. Yes, I am a bit behind on showing it off.

When someone says they can drink a pot of coffee, this must be what they are talking about. Or what it must look like to some. Such a cool mug and I know you will agree with me in comments.

Now onto today's post.

*considers using his wife's mug, but decides to continue on with what he is drinking. maybe another day*

*takes a sip*

I am not sure what is going on with the USPS recently, but they lost a card someone sent me, my mail volume has been down, all of the packages I have been waiting for have taken forever to arrive, there was a pwe covered in a strong women's perfume (why couldn't it have been coffee?) and now I got an envelope that the machine caught on and someone snuck a sneak peek at what I got.

This card was a RAK from my long time Twitter friend, JGfan24ever. As you can see, the machine must have caught it, but you can also tell it looks like someone tried to rip it more open.

Fortunately, he had taped the card to the inside of the envelope because who knows what may have happened to it.

And here is the card. It's nothing expensive or valuable but is a new piece for my Christmas PC. I can only imagine if this was something more than a base card short print someone may have snagged it from the envelope. It was opened enough to do so.

Hopefully whatever is going on at USPS, they fix the problem soon.

I did want to take a second out to say thanks to Michael for the RAK.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I want to know in comments if any of you have dealt with any issues with USPS recently? Or maybe its just me. Have you ever had a card stolen or lost? Let me know.

Hope you have a terrific Tuesday and enjoy that cup of coffee!

Coffee Break:2022 Topps Holiday Baseball Mega Box

*when the coffee is hot and there are cards, there is Cards Over Coffee to be had*

Twas 16 days before Christmas and all through the house, not a pack of cards was left unopened not even 1988 Score baseball.

Sorry you can only rhyme for so long.

The Topps Holiday boxes were on the Walmart shelf with care, in hopes I would take an hour-long trip and soon be there.

My pocket had just enough cash nestled to buy, hoping I won't arrive to an empty shelf and cry.

I in my winter hat and coat, went inside of the Walmart hoping not to mope.

And there it sat right on the shelf, waiting for me like it was placed there by an Elf. I was excited to open with care, hoping that a Santa relic would be in there.

With 10 packs of 10 cards each, I spent $24.98 while doing a little girl screech.

I drove the hour back home with coffee and cards in my hand, counting down to see which 1 autograph, relic, or autograph relic I would pull that would be grand.
Immediately I was greeted by a Buehler, that was an ornament die cut shape of a tree, that I couldn't be more....I don't have a word that goes with Buehler...maybe for more fuehler?

I opened them pack by pack and enjoyed the 200 card design all about,

I pulled Wander and I gave a shout.

I was more than halfway through the break and what should appear...
A Candy Cane sleeve Acuna and a

Santa Belt Ohtani that I gave a cheer.

With some Metallic parallels (1:2 packs) I pulled for this post so quick.

I even pulled this Red Metallic, that matches the color of the suit of Saint Nick. (it also falls 1:92 packs and there is Gold Metallic 1/1 as well)

Then it came down to my hit.

I shouted come on Julio, Trout and Wander and even Saint Nick.
As I quickly revealed my card, I saw it was at least a Yankee, a Luis Gil, one I could not disregard.

I picked up my cards and set this aside with a smirk, I was pretty happy with the results and knew I had some sorting work.

In my comments today, I hope to hear your thoughts on my break, and you can tell me if you like them with a no or a yay.

I hope everyone has a great rest of their day, drink some coffee and hopefully get a box of this to break right away.

Thanksgiving 2021

*takes a seat with coffee and the smell of turkey overtaking the house.*

It's Thanksgiving Day! Because of that, today's post will not be very long as this year I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time in years. Usually I am the guy who pitches in with some of the side dishes.

Since it's Turkey Day,

Thought I would show off a Turkey Card from 2018 Topps Holiday.

There are other Turkey cards out there, but this is my latest add so it was quicker to get to.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I hope all of you guys out there have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy time with your family and be thankful. You never know what will happen or when. Be thankful for every minute.

In comments, let's hear your favorite Thanksgiving side dish.
