Another HOFer Knocked Down

*sits down, takes a sip and gets ready for a new post on cards over coffee*

I always feel bad when I sit on a mail day for so long without posting about it, but, as we all know life gets in the way.

It's not that the mail day isn't appreciated by any means, especially one like today's, it just happens.

Today's mail day is from my buddy @CardpocalypseNC on Twitter who hit me up with a really nice mail day in our latest trade.

*takes a sip before moving on with today's post*

I would call this a yearlong trade and there were more cards than I am showing involved in this trade, but I am only posting the key cards in it.

Kerry Collins refractor /250. Always like a hard to find refractor for my key PC's.

It's a Anna Kournikova card, do I need a reason?

1997 Fleer Metal Universe base card of Jim Harbaugh. I haven't seen this one before, but it has a Halloween feel to it.

For my next card, if you didn't know already, I have been chasing all of the RL Stine cards from 2020 Allen Ginter. RL is the reason I am writing today as he was my biggest inspiration growing up.

This is a 1/1, my first 1/1 of his, Topps Vault Blank Back card.

I believe this is also my first Topps Vault card.

My final card has been sitting on my want list for so, so long and now I have it....
Jim Kelly autograph! I finally get to knock it off of my HOFer autograph list. I still have more to go, but it always feels nice to have one down. It has been a while since I was last able to do so.

Thanks again to Tim again for the trade.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

Tim's mail day is one of many I have in drafts that really need to be published and shared. It's just finding the time to do so and over the next few weeks my time will be very tight. I do have some posts already put together to cover me for the next few weeks or you guys would be cup-less otherwise.

Thoughts on my mail day welcomed in comments today.

Have a terrific Tuesday.

Cards That Only I Care About

*does morning blog reading in open windows, yes, I read other sport card blogs and will occasionally comment when there is time. remembers an article on Night Owl Cards that is an idea for today's post. clicks link, reads article again, takes a sip and gets stack of cards ready for the latest #CardsOverCoffee post*

The legendary Night Owl Cards put up a post on June 13th that I thought would make for a great Blog-Bat-Around. He posted some cards that only mattered to him and that's the way it should be as a card blogger. Sometimes I feel like I play reading the field and want people to read my posts and not ignore them because I posted something that may not interest them.

Well, today. I took on my inner Night Owl cards and I am posting cards that only I care about or seem to. So, if you don't want to see or read about them, there will be other posts for you another day.

*takes a sip*

The good thing about what I collect is that a lot of people are not chasing it. Even though there are a lot of NY Giants collectors out there, many are only after the star players and rare cards. Not myself, I take the low road because it's fun and sometimes nostalgic.

I am also the only one that card blogs about the Giants that I have found.

For example, my latest Kerry Collins additions. There are other collectors out there, some on TCDB, that have Collins cards in their collections because of Penn State, but I haven't yet met another actual Collins collector such as myself.

I am okay with being the only one liking cards like these,

(Flair Legacy)

And then there is Charles Way. The average collector/person may ask "who is this guy?" and I will just respond, he was a fullback for the NY Giants in the 90's.

With today's NFL and lack of Fullbacks, they may also ask what a fullback is.

Of course, I will sometimes mention that he was primarily used as a fullback to block for my Super Collection player Rodney Hampton.

I don't keep track of Kerry Collins collection on TCDB, but I do keep track of my Charles Way where I am way out front as the top collector.

*takes a sip and gets ready to finish up today's post*

It's okay that you may not care about the cards I posted today, I am sure some of you collect stuff that I don't care about either. Which is okay to. That is the fun thing about collecting, we collect what makes us happy and not others. Though some cards may make others jealous whether it fits their collection or not.

Hope everyone has a Wonderful Wednesday.

Thoughts on my cards and if you will continue this blog bat around welcomed in comments.

Well Dressed With A Cup Of Coffee

*just found out today is a National Day of celebration for the one and only, coffee. Takes a sip*

My wife just informed me today is a very important day.

So grab a friend and celebrate #NationalCoffee Day. Is there really any better day? Not that I need a reason to celebrate more coffee in a day but here we are.

I took advantage of the free coffee with purchase at Dunkin' today and enjoyed a nice hot brew of the coffee form,

I know it's not straight up decaf (if you missed why I have to drink decaf in a previous post it's because I get tachycardia now with caffeine) plain coffee, but I was feeling a bit excited so I went a little off course.

*takes another sip. Mmmm the mocha is where it's at today folks!*

Another exciting thing about today is my sharing of the latest mail day I had from Too Many Verlanders blog that may have led me to another chase. It seems his mail days have done that to me TOO many times.

Right here is a huge stack of.....Amani Toomer cards.

Amani Toomer or as Chris Berman nicknamed him "well dressed" was a 2nd round draft pick Wide Receiver of the NY Giants in the 1996 NFL Draft. He had 668 Receptions, 9,497 yards and 54 touchdowns in his career all with NY. He retired in 2008 after winning Super Bowl 42 with the Giants and is apart of the Giants Ring Of Honor in 2010, He also holds double digit team receiving records that I doubt will ever be broken. Unless Darius Slayton really turns it on.

I have always been fond of Amani and have always felt he was underrated despite the numbers and the big catches in important moments like in the 2008 playoff game vs Dallas where he took a short pass 52 yards for a touchdown. However, my fondness of Amani has never quite translated over to cardboard

Well, that's until this mail day came.

Thanks to Dennis and this big stack of cards, I will officially put it out there that I am seeking Amani Toomer cards and will add him to my list of players I collect. Bring them on!

*takes another sip...or two...before showing off some goods*

I won't dive into the entire stack that Dennis sent of Amani, but will show off the ones that caught my attention immediately,

Don't tell me those didn't catch your attention as well.

I will have to update my Amani Toomer collection numbers at some point and see where I am at. Will also need to download a player checklist to avoid duplicates which there were some in this stack.

*takes another sip and actually chugs the rest before it gets cold and so this post can be concluded*

Thanks to Dennis for the mail day and for sending me yet on another quest. It's not like I needed another PC to chase but same goes for my coffee as well. It's not like I need another cup, but I always go for more. A day like today though with the celebration of coffee, I gotta grab another cup or two.

Happy #NationalCoffeeDay
