I'm Back

*sits down with hot coffee and some cards*

*takes sip*

*cards over coffee time commences*

Sorry that I have been missing in action on here. I have always said that family comes first, and they do.

Now that things have slowed down a little, very little, it gave me a gap in time to enjoy some cards and some coffee. Not that I haven't had my share of coffee the last few weeks.

But, that's not Cards Over Coffee.

*takes a sip*

I was able to enjoy a few things the last couple of weeks that signals that fall is in full force now.

First, I went to a high school football game at my alma mata. They lost, but it was still a fun watch (sorry for no pictures on that as I know the school frowns on photos, and I don't feel like getting sued right now with all of my other issues)
I visited and picked apples at an orchard. I figure some will be for eating, some for pie and some for bread. The taste of the fall other than pumpkin spice is apple.

At the orchard they also had some animals. I know my wife has called me one of these a few times. I am talking about a Jack people. A male. I am not sure what you were thinking (though you are definitely right if you thought what I think you are thinking)

Hit up a corn maze! My first one in over 15 years. I had a lot of fun, got lost a few times, then found myself. Sounds like a metaphor for life.

I did not though take an Emergency Exit once. I put in the valiant effort. The fun thing about this maze was that it gave you clues at each station number throughout. Your clues were answers to questions on a sheet. There were 5 different sheets to choose from in which I chose the sports one where the first question was, how many championships did MJ win with the Bulls? They weren't all easy like that, but I knew about 8 of the 10.

In this same time frame, I got a mail day that's been waiting to be posted from Dion's Autograph collection.

*takes a sip*

Dion and myself pulled off another 2 PWE trade and I landed myself a good variety of cards.

First up, some random Allen And Ginter base/insert cards,

Then some newer G-Men since my collection lacks a lot of newer stuff.
(you better ball out Jones)

(I will collect you in blue still)

(big season upcoming?)

(shake it Dexy!)

(best linebacker in the NFL)

(underrated NFL WR)

Thanks again to Dion for our latest trade, hopefully another one coming up soon.

And now I am ringing the victory bell. It's the end of the corn maze and the end of today's post.

Have a happy Wednesday.

Cafe Trade #3 2024: @levy2628

Coffee, Cards, Blogging. A fun way to kick off my Sunday....or any day.

Today I am showing off my third trade of 2024 and it happens to be my second trade with @levy2628.

And once again, my trade with @levy2628 brought a variety of fun cards.

Let's see what was sent this time.

*takes a sip*
Clarence Birdseye. I bet you can't guess what he is connected to....yup...he was known as the founder of the frozen food industry including you guessed it, Birds Eye.

If only he had created Frozen Coffee.

Booming Cities mini insert

X-Ray Allen and Ginter base. Who doesn't want an X-Ray rookie card? Especially someone like me who has had plenty of them in my lifetime.

Always wanted one of these. Next up on my want list is the 2012 Allen Ginter People Of The Bible Jesus.

1995 Zenith Z-Team Sterling Sharpe. This is my next set chase now that I finished 1996. I will do a separate post on this in Unfinished Cup soon.

Kenneth Choi autograph from Spiderman Homecoming. Choi has starred in a variety of TV shows and Movies. Most recently on the TV series 9-1-1. Which is a much different show than what I grew up watching.

Laura Harrier played Peter Parker's love crush in Spider-Man Homecoming but has also played roles in other TV and movies along with being a model.

I am glad now to have three of the autographs from Spider-Man Homecoming and hope to add more from it and other Marvel ones as well.

Thanks again to @levy2628 for the trade. We have actually just finished another one recently so he could become Trade #4 as well.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I am always welcoming trades for Marvel cards like the ones above or the 1995 Zenith Z-Team needs. Maybe one of you will become the next Trade on my countdown.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday full of coffee and card happiness.

Cafe Trade #1 2024: Oren

Boy, what a year this month has been so far. First, the broken shoulder, followed by the septic issues into the house, today I have laryngitis and also had our vehicle backed into at the gas station.

Can I hit the reset button yet? Is there one?

There may not be enough coffee in the world to get me through January. Though I am averaging three cups a day right now. That's like Patrick Mahomes numbers.

Despite life problems, there is at least a hobby I can come back to and know there is always happiness and a distraction there.

And there is always coffee to go with it, such as today.

*takes a sip*

Today's mail day was my first trade of 2024 and comes from blog reader and friend Oren who sent along some non-sport goodies.

A nice stack and variety of Allen and Ginter. Most from 2023, but some from other years.

Courtney Hansen relic. She is mostly known for being a television host on the show Overhaulin'. Not something I have ever seen.

John Cynn relic. Professional Poker player. I have never watched Poker on TV, but have played some with friends over the years. I am far from being a professional.

And finally, the last card I was super excited about.

Danielle Harris relic.  She has spent most of her acting career being in horror especially for the Halloween Franchise something I grew up watching with my mom. Lots of nostalgia. Now I just need to add her autograph as well.

Thanks goes out to Oren again for always sending the goods!

I hope everyone has a better Saturday than I am. But there is still a chance I can save the rest of today.

International Coffee Day

*sits down to celebrate this marvelous occasion with a cup of hot brew*

*takes a sip*

I sure hope you have a cup of coffee in hand, because this is the day to do so! Today is International Coffee Day. A day where you celebrate the greatest drink ever created.

Topps Allen&Ginter even agree when they included International Coffee Day on their It's Your Special Day checklist last year.

I was able to add and know about this card existing thanks to my buddy Shane from Cheap Wax Wednesday fame. He sadly doesn't like coffee himself, which is a shame, so he passed this card along to someone who does.

I happily accepted it and will now celebrate with it. As I said, I may have missed National Coffee Day on Friday, but I am not missing today.

*takes a sip*

I am not sure how I will be celebrating today any different, maybe make a Dunkin' run instead of just drinking what I have at home, but I will definitely get my fill of my favorite beverage today.

This blogger also happily accepts any donations towards his coffee needs today :) I know you won't, but just in case my email is sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com. Hey, you have to try right?

In comments, let me know how you like your coffee or if you even like coffee or how you are celebrating today.

*takes a sip, gulp and smiles. tips mug towards you in celebration before closing*

More Coffee On Cards

*laptop is on an actual lap, waits for wife to be done at dentists for a very long, lengthy and expensive appointment. takes a sip from dunkin cup, and figures it's time for a new Cards Over Coffee post*

I normally don't carry my laptop around unless I know I am going to be somewhere for a long amount of time. Today, is that day. While my wife is getting some dental work done, I am sitting in the car waiting for her and figured I might as well get a post done.

I didn't however have any cards in my drafts, but I had two cards on my laptop I hadn't uploaded or shown off other than on the main face of the blog so figured I might as well do those ones since I have extra time to do so today.

I have had these cards for a few months now, so they are nothing new other than a new post.

*takes a sip*

There are not a lot of cards out there that feature coffee on them, other than former 49ers running back Glen Coffee who played in the league for one year before retiring and served in the U.S. Army instead. I had considered at one point adding a few of his cards for fun, maybe some time.

*takes another sip and wonders about a Glen Coffee pc*

I believe for the most part though, I have the three or four cards that feature this blogs premier drink

I got this 1991 Star Pics Twin Peaks Coffee mug card from a friend on Twitter who is a big time Twin Peaks fan and collector. I knew about this card and was seeking one and he happened to have an extra for me. I wonder if this is the first coffee card.

And then I was able to add this Topps And Ginter International Coffee Day card thanks to my buddy Shane. You will see this card again in October so be prepared for that.

That's it for my latest coffee card, cards on coffee, cards over coffee whatever you want to call these cards with coffee on them adds.

Thoughts on these cards welcomed in comments. Also, let me know if you collect any funky-fun cards like these of anything in particular while you are at it.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday, especially my wife and wallet.

Filling In Needs

*takes a sip on this cold, snowy covered Monday Morning. has cards next to laptop and is ready for Cards Over Coffee*

I find it very useful to post your needs on blogs.

Whether that be a Top 10 Want List, Set Needs, A Santa Sized list or a simple post, there is always someone reading-even if you have a small crowd reading-that see your needs and sometimes can fill them.

In a post about a week ago, I talked about how it was Allen And Ginter season and that I was on the lookout for Non-Sport personalities in the base set. I made a list, checked it twice and someone saw my post and provided me some of those needs.

What I didn't expect though, was the bonuses and one was quite the surprise.

*takes a sip before moving onto today's post*

@jrl1828x8 on Twitter read that post and messaged me telling me he had some of the base cards non-sports I was seeking.

Keep in mind this mail day was sent RAK style.
If you are into the NFL like I am, you know Scott Hanson. He works for NFL Network and hosts the NFL RedZone channel which features the biggest parts of the games.

Morgan Murphy is a stand up comedian and has done some writing on the comedy show 2 Broke Girls. One that I actually can admit to enjoying. Yes, I said it. Don't spit out your coffee.

If you have Facebook and like any comedy at all, I am certain you saw Charlie Berens video shorts on there. I would be surprised if you haven't. His videos always pop up for me since I follow Dude Dad on there.

Dave Hause is a singer/songwriter and Rachel Balkovec is the first full time female manager and manages the Yankees Class A minor league team, the Tampa Tarpons.

These were the cards I was expecting. Then came a few surprises.

*takes a sip*
I don't get into politics at all, nobody would want to know my opinions on today's topics :) However, I do collect a lot of politicians and political figures on cards. That I, and you, can handle.

I hope. No political arguments in comments. Just coffee.

And the biggest surprise of them all....
Mr. Alice Cooper..RELIC CARD!! This was the one card from my want list I didn't think I was going to get. So, so cool!!!

HUGE THANKS to James for this incredible mail day and surprises.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I have been fortunate so far with being able to get some sets filled, a few other needs knocked off just for taking a minute out to post about my needs.

I hope you do the same and that you have success in filling your needs.

In comments today, tell me about your favorite card from this mail day and has someone ever helped knock off important cards from your lists.

It's Allen & Ginter Season

*sits down and gets ready for a new post on cards over coffee. has cards, coffee and laptop ready. lets do this*

It's Topps Allen & Ginter season again.

While some of you are participating in hunting season looking for at least an 8-pointer, I am out there looking for the non-sport cards from Allen & Ginter.

*takes a sip*

I am not sure if I see myself opening up any of this great product this season, so I have been looking to add the non-sport cards from it.

My buddy Shane from Cheap Wax Wednesday had me covered with some of the names I wanted from 2022, but there are still some names that I need which are the following,
  • Scott Hanson
  • Dave Haus
  • Rachel Balkovec
  • Davey Cuts
  • Charlie Berens
  • Charlie Sheen
  • Michelle Wie west
  • Malika Andrews
  • Morgan Murphy
If any of you have them and can fill in my missing gaps, let me know. I also don't mind dupes (or hits) of some of the other guys or inserts as well.

*takes a sip*

I may not have my needs from this year's Allen & Ginter done yet, but I keep adding to my past years and recently padded some more for my 2017 collection thanks to Johnny's Trading Spot with my recent contest win.

2017 Allen Ginter Revolutionary Battles

2017 Allen&Ginter Sport Fish & Fishing Lures

2017 Allen&Ginter World's Fair

Thanks goes out to Johnny's Trading Spot for the contest cards.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

As I said above, if any of you have any of my wants I am hunting from 2022 Allen & Ginter from above, please let me know. They are a 9-pointer so it will take some work :)

I would also love to get the Alice Cooper Relic as well. And it was surprising he didn't have a base card as well. I would have taken that instead of the relic.

In comments today, let me know your favorite Allen & Ginter non sport base or insert card or cards.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Finishing Up A Trade

*grabs a handful of cards and sits down to post about them. it's time for another new Cards Over Coffee post today*

*takes a sip*

*actually gets back up to make some toast to go along with today's post. takes a bite, sits back down, takes a sip, begins today's post finally*

I try to be as easy as I can be with trading.

Sometimes I will just take some cards to finish a trade whether they completely fit what I am collecting or not.

I regret it at points, but other times it works out well in the end. I will say that was the case for my latest trade with @TommyJC1.

*takes another bite, a sip and gets ready for the post*

I will start with the cards I claimed at the end to finish up the trade. I didn't know how I felt about it at first, but after getting the cards in hand, I was pretty happy with my choices.

Like this Ronnie Lott. Cool looking card. As I have gotten older, I have come to appreciate the older 90's cards like this.

Same goes for this Robinson. This would have been meh for me a couple of years ago, now it's cool and in. Just like Coffee and Cards.

Some odds and ends SI for Kids cards.

Gale Sayers and Walter Payton POG.

What do you guys think about my fill-ins to finish the trade?

Now onto the main claims.
New Jeter

Tim Tebow for my Christian Athlete PC.

Oddball Giants cards. I didn't have these two.

Allen Ginter claims. Always taking these.

Cards for my 90's PC for these guys.

And to end it, more non-sport additions. I may have these already, but I also may not. I lost track so I just take them all.

Thanks again to @TommyJC1 for the trade. Hope to do this again.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

I hope there are others out there who do what I do to finish up a trade. I sometimes will take cards in these kind of trades for other people that I know would appreciate them. These are RAKs I do usually.

Thoughts on my mail day welcomed in comments and let me know if you are this kind of trader.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.
