Finished Cup: 2021 Donruss Rookie Sweaters Single Relic

It's late, I am up watching what I am hoping will be an Eagles loss in their game vs the Bucs with a sore shoulder. So, since I am not sleeping yet, hopefully I can sleep with my shoulder, I thought I would put up a quick post on here to try and continue to catch up with Christmas mail days.

I am also doing this without coffee, it is late. That's the only reason. When have I ever posted Cards Over Coffee without coffee?

Today's mail day post helped me finish a set I have been chasing for two years thanks to the generosity of Twitter pal, @TyRecino.

Ty is always checking in with me on Twitter to see what some of my needs are for my Sweater sets chases. When he found out I was only three away from completing the 2021 single relic set, he said, it's completed now as he picked up the final three cards.

I waited until Christmas before I opened the package up, as I did with every package that arrived around that time.

Inside was a trade we did (I will be posting this on Big Blue Cardboard), an Eli Manning surprise and the final three cards were the set ones I needed.

First up, Justin Fields. He had an up and down season mixed in with some injuries.

Tylan Wallace who made that unforgettable overtime punt return touchdown against the Rams this season.

And Javonte Williams who seemed to had been lost in the Denver offense that used multiple running backs. I will never understand that Denver offense this year and why they benched Russell Wilson. I am a Wilson fan, I hope he can come back and play somewhere else next year and prove Denver wrong.

And that does it. Set complete. Now I need to tackle the dual relic set for 2021 that I don't own a single card of yet.

Thanks again to Ty for the help and the few other goodies he sent as well.

I hope everyone has a good night's sleep, hopefully I will to. I just took some ibuprofen.

Maybe a new post tomorrow if I can find time as I have a cleaning at the dentists.

Finished Cup:1995 Skybox Impact Countdown To Impact

*coffee is ready, cards are next to me and it's time for a new cards over coffee.*

So yesterday I posted an Unfinished Cup, which is a set that needs completing to today a Finished Cup meaning......you got it, a set I completed.

It almost took me 30 years to complete this set, I never know why it takes me that long but it has to do with my focus on the hobby, but it's officially done, and I can celebrate.

The 1995 Skybox Impact Countdown To Impact fell 1:20 packs. There are 10 cards in this set. I posted this as an Unfinished Cup back in March of this year so I finally focused and got it done.

Here were the four cards needed to finish this one up,

Some big time names in there. Which is the way I work with all of my set chases tackling the top guys last.

Here is the 10-card set in all of it's glory,

Yes, I am smiling behind my mug that this is finally done.

*takes a happy sip and may have done a little happy dance*

*gets back to blogging*

Thoughts on my latest set completion welcomed in comments.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Finished Cup:1995 Fleer NFL Prospects

*sits down, takes a sip and gets ready for a new post on Cards Over Coffee*

Coffee and Cards, any better way to start the day? You better say there isn't. Because there isn't.

I finally have been putting a focus on finishing up some of my sets or at least adding to them. The more I see prices of today's cards continuing to rise, the more I look back on cards from my past and knowing it's time to put more of my focus back onto them.

Which is why I was able to finish picking up the final card, yes I waited this long to add one card, to my 1995 Fleer NFL Prospects set.

I know you saw the words 1995 Fleer and probably gagged some, but, I loved that product. Especially the inserts which is why I am chasing everything from the 1995 product including the base.

*takes a sip*
John Walsh from the Cincinatti Bengals was the final card I needed to finish up the 20-card set and was found for under $2. NFL Prospects fell 1:6 packs and featured a funtastic (is this really a word?) background with a mix of rough and gloss feel.

The set featured some of the top picks of the 1995 NFL Draft. (yes that's my boy Kerry Collins above)

These cards that scream 90's look even better in a binder side by side.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

It's such a relief to finish up this long time set chase and I recently just finished up another just as long. Soon, I will be posting that one along with some other Unfinished Cups that maybe some of you can help with. Who likes to have an unfinished cup????

Thoughts on this set welcomed in comments below.

Have a great Monday!

Finished Cup:1997 Ex2000 Baseball

A finished cup. Something that I couldn't accomplish this morning as my coffee maker is apparently having issues and likes to add grounds to my coffee. It's one of those mornings if something goes wrong, it will. Or it at least feels that way without my coffee.

At least in the hobby world, I was able to actually finish a cup....again.

Within the same time frame, I finished up my 1996 Spx baseball set, that you can view HERE, I was also able to acquire the final missing piece for my 1997 Ex2000 baseball set after a big assist from TCDB member Abide helped get me to it.

If you didn't know, I would rank 1997 Ex2000 as one of the Top 3 best looking base card sets of the 90's. Once again, I need to really make a post on my rankings.

To finish up my 1997 Ex2000 baseball set, another member of the TCDB family got me there. I am not sure what their member name is on the website, but on Twitter they are known as @thirdcoastcards and they messaged me asking for my address as they had the final missing piece for my set.

That missing piece, Barry Bonds. What joy it was to finally reunite him with his Ex2000 family.

*shivers down the spine*

Here is look at the 102-card, 100 cards and 2 checklists, set.

(ignore the paper taped on the page as I reuse all of my pages)

This last picture also gives you a sneak peek of the next set I am hoping to complete, 1998 Ex2001. Needs for that set are on the link embedded in the wording.

Big thanks goes out to @thirdcoastcards for the set help. Appreciate it!!!

This completed set now goes along with the 1997 and 1998 football ones I have already finished. Now to do the 1998 Ex2001 and both basketball sets. Basketball will be near impossible with Kobe and Jordan.

Thoughts on my latest set completion is welcomed in comments!

The Segments On Here

*sits down, cardless for today's post. but not coffeeless. that would be a nightmare though not having cards to post about today is as well.*

*takes a sip*

*takes another sip, gets ready to type*

When I started up Cards Over Coffee two years ago, I didn't know the direction the blog would take. Unlike blogs I made of the past, I wasn't sure if this was going to be one of those blogs I had segments on. For the most part, my segments never get much traction despite my creativity with them. I went a little while on here before deciding that the usual posts needed some breaking up, so I created some coffee themed segments.

Over the past two years, I had quite the list of segments going on but recently had to narrow them down.

Here are the ones I am planning to keep in rotation,
  • 90's On The 9th (90's cards on the 9th of every month)
  • Slice Of American Pie (showcasing my 2011 Topps American Pie set chase)
  • Unfinished Cup (my set needs)
  • Coffee Break (any product I open, this will be cut way back with lack of product to open)
  • Coffee With (non sport autograph adds)
  • Would You Rather? (Matrix given choices)
Here are the ones I am retiring,
  • Monday Morning Cup (I may bring this back in a different form, this originally was my NY Giants Sunday game review with cards. But all Giants cards will be featured on Eli's Big Blue Crew unless it's something super special with a super backstory)
  • The Rodney Brew (above comment, also lack of Rodney's to post)
  • Giant Cup (same as above two comments)
  • 90's Cards Over Coffee (90's On The 9th has taken this spot)
  • 80's On The 8th (not really an 80's card collector so didn't fit what I do)
  • State Of The Hobby (this one ended)
  • Unfiltered Review (Coffee Break took this spot)
Some New Upcoming segments,
  • Finished Cup (already did my first post on this one. This will include sets I am finished)
  • Cafe Funko (my Funko collection)
As always, I like to hear from my readers on which segments you like or which ones you would like to see as we move into a new month. Comment below on this.

I also want to mention that I might have some fun stuff planned for Halloween and Christmas this year to post.

Hope everyone has an amazing Sunday. God Bless!

Finished Cup:1996 Spx Baseball

New segments are always fun to install into a blog.

It can bring new life to the blog and to the person writing the blog. I have introduced a few this year on Cards Over Coffee and hopefully everyone has enjoyed reading them as much as I have been writing them.

Today's newest segment bounces off from another segment on here, Unfinished Cup.

The difference, one is unfinished sets I am chasing, the other, guess what, I finished a set!

That's exactly what today's post will be about.

*takes a sip*

Some people think that a rollercoaster is the greatest thrill ride you can go on, but I guess those people haven't ever finished a long time set chase before.

As soon as I got this final card for my 1996 Spx baseball base set from @gingersnap4004, I was already on the thrill ride of a lifetime.

Now after twenty-plus years it is finally complete!

Only one thing left, a brag gallery,

And there it is. All 60 cards in the set.

I don't know about you, but I am on an all-time high.

Like Snoop Dogg level.

Thanks again for the final piece @gingersnap4004. Now onto chasing the parallel, inserts sets and autographs.

Thoughts on my latest segment and this set completion welcomed in comments.
