Unfinished Cup:1995 Pro Line Classic Autographs

With paperwork all submitted, school textbooks ordered, and life calming down for a few days, I thought I would get some posts up before September 2nd when everything begins to ramp up and I won't have time to post on here.

Today, I am doing a quick-simple post asking again for any assistance on a set chase.

And this is a major one.

I decided to start chasing the 1995 Pro Line autographs set because the checklist is full of fun and interesting players from the 90's.

The set consists of 170 cards, but with a few variations on some of the players, I really only want to chase one of each player. I believe there is 120-130 overall or so.

At the point of this post, I have 38 of them. Which seems like a lot, but I still have miles to go.

Do I expect to finish this set? Nope. The big names will hurt me. Do I expect to put my best effort into doing this? Yes, absolutely.

You can find the needs here (needs in white)

If you or anyone you know has some collecting dust and don't want them, let me know and drop me an email to sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com

Thanks for reading today and hope to see you back again soon...with a cup of coffee in hand.

Unfinished Cup:1996 Zenith Noteworthy

I have so, so, so (times this by infinity) sets that I need to finish up.

There are some that are so close that I need to just finish so I can cross them off and move onto the next. But, instead, I end up adding more sets to that chase.

What is wrong with me?

While I wait for analysis on that question, I will show off another set that I need to finish that I am only a few cards away from completion on.

1996 Zenith was one of my favorite products to rip in the 90's. The inserts were stunning; the base cards were the best I have ever seen (this was before Spx hologram ones) and it felt like high quality all around.

With so much opening of it back then, I began to piece together some sets I wanted to chase including the base. I will post those numbers at some point. I finished up the 1996 Zenith Z-Team which was one of the best designed ones of the Z-Team run. Which now leads me to wanting to finish up the Noteworthy insert.

Noteworthy captured noteworthy performance numbers from the previous season. These inserts fell 1:12 packs and is an 18-card set.

I have officially narrowed it down to just four cards needed and here they are:
1996 Zenith Noteworthy
3,6,13,15

If any of you have these, please hit me up at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday and once again, thanks for any help.

Unfinished Cup:1995 Stadium Club Ground Attack

Okay, I am going to admit, when I think about 30 years ago, I am putting myself in the 1970's.

The harsh reality is that 30 years ago was the 1990's.

So, when I think back to my favorite years of the hobby 1995-1999, it's hard to comprehend how long ago that was now.

Which makes it even harder when a set like the one that pops up for today's post and feels like it just came out yesterday.

BUT IT'S BEEN 30 YEARS.

I am feeling old or as some of my family and friends joke, I am old.

The other sad part is that I have many sets just like the one today that I haven't finished up yet even after the thirty years. I feel like it's finally time to do that.

And it starts with this one.

Especially since that set only has one card to go.

1995 Stadium Club Ground Attack was a foil-based set found in packs at the odds of 1:18. I am officially only missing card #8 which is the dual threat of Byron Morris/Eric Pegram.

I am not sure why I haven't added this card yet. Maybe was hoping a reader had an extra copy to help me finish this or maybe because of my old age I forgot that I am only one away. Either way, this needs to be completed.

Let me know your thoughts on this set in comments.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Unfinished Cup:1995 Summit Ground Zero Football

It has become apparent that I am not very good at remembering things, after updating my Set Needs tab on here, I began looking for new Unfinished Cups to feature and for some reason I found I doubled up on a few of the ones I already did.

Ooops! That won't happen again.

First, it's walking into a room and forgetting why I was in there and now it's publishing the same blog posts twice.

My forgetful 40's are kicking in.

Now you probably ask, why bother posting them when you already have them in your Set Needs Tab. Well, that's because I find that featuring them in a post may help get them the reach I need and hopefully someone will be able to help fill those needs.

Because I know not everyone clicks on the tabs to check them out and my set needs may never get out there to be seen otherwise.

I will say by posting them, I have had some help over the years, so I know these posts are useful.

So, let's get on with today's before I forget what it was.

This parallel is 1995 Summit Ground Zero which was found 1:7 packs of 1995 Summit football. The base card design for Summit was one of my favorites of the 90's and still ranks easily in my Top 10 for base designs.

So, we top that off with a cool looking parallel, one of my very first parallels to pull, and you have a chase.

I have come so close over the years, and I think and feel like it's time to finish up this bad boy. It's not every day you finish up a 200-card parallel set.

Here is what remains,
35,53,60,64,71,79,103,109,125,136,137,138,159,160,166,169,174,177,178,179,180,182,188,189,193,195,196 197,198,200

If you have any, please comment below or hit me up in my email at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Thanks for reading, thanks in advance on any help and hope you brought your coffee.

Unfinished Cup:1997 Spx Basketball

If I had to put a ranking of my favorite base set designs of the 90's, someday I really hope to do that, 1997 Spx is EASY Top 5.

The die-cut design. The touch of foil and color. The hologram that smiles at you with a single turn. There isn't anything to hate about it.

That's why I have finished the football, NASCAR, baseball and almost hockey sets of it.

I am also ever so-so close to finishing up the basketball one after I was RAK'd a Kobe which is the hardest card in the set. I promised the person who sent that I would finally finish this up.
All that remains is,
19,24,29.30,32,34,37,38,42,43,and 47.

That's 11 cards out of 50. This one has been a slow build but being this close, I have to do this!!

Do you have any of my remaining needs? Comment below or hit me up at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com . Thanks in advance!

Well, this makes three posts in three days and this is just the beginning. I have packed a lot of posts coming up and some new ones on Sport Card Collectors and Big Blue Cardboard too so make sure you are following those as well. There is a reason I am doing this and that will be revealed at some point.

Hope everyone has a great end of April! Hopefully all of those showers bring on May flowers!

Unfinished Cup:1997 Spx Basketball

I had almost given up, but one tweet changed the momentum towards today's Unfinished Cup set chase.

That one tweet helped me land the biggest card in the set with this Kobe Bryant and now I actually have a chance at finally finishing this set chase.

This is the last Spx set I need to complete my hologram Spx set chases of baseball, football, basketball, and NASCAR! Hockey still has some to go before that makes the list but the basketball would be a huge one to finally complete.

Kobe was the last major piece I needed as I acquired MJ a while ago.

Here are the remaining needs if any of you have any help for me to finish up this set,
6,16,19,24,29,30,32,34,37,38,41,42,43,47,

I am soooooooooooo close. Would love to finish this one up.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

Pinky up, coffee up.

Unfinished Cup:2024 Donruss Rookie Sweaters

It's that time of year....time for those holiday sweaters.

Oh wait.

Well, according to Panini it is with their late release of this year's Donruss Holiday.

To me, this is a product that needs to be released in November in preparation for the holidays, not something at the end of January/February.

Oh well. I don't work there and can't control release times.

But I am here for it still.

This year is no different than the last four years of this product, I am chasing the sweater cards and just like past years, there's a lot to chase.

This includes 42 base single sweater relics and 8 dual sweater relics. So, a whopping 50.

My chase has led me to only 4 dual relics and not one single relic, yet which leaves me with miles and miles to go.

Find out what I need HERE,which I keep updated and let me know if you have any!

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday full of coffee and dreams.

Tonight marks my final basketball game, which I forgot to mention this past Saturday we won both of our games. The first game was won 40-16 and the second game we faced each other again and this time I pulled out the 12-7 win.

It will be sad to have the season come to an end, but I am looking forward to next year already!

Unfinished Cup:2024 Topps Update Mystical

My coffee is ready, my cards are and for the first time this year, so isn't an Unfinished Cup.

I have lots more to come in this series when I have time to get things all sorted.

But today we have this one because it was sitting around out in the open.

*takes a sip*

I don't do many newer sets anymore because creativity is gone, and I find myself collecting less new baseball especially. But, when I got one of these inserts, I could feel the 90's powering through.

Cool background design and it even sparkles in person. One of the coolest looking inserts I have seen in some time.

What I didn't know, was the size of this set. I was thinking maybe 15-20 in the set, nope. It's 50. 50 cards deep.

So far, I have acquired 20 of the set, but obviously still have a long way to go.

You can see what I need HERE. I have this spreadsheet up to date.

If you have any, drop a comment or email at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Thanks for taking time out today for my post!

90's On The 9th: 1995 Pro Line Autograph Jeff Blake

You didn't think I would miss anything with the 90's did you?

Here is a late coffee-less edition of 90's On The 9th.

*yawns, but tries to get this accomplished*

Tonight, I am taking a trip back to 1995 and checking out the Pro Line Classic autographs. As I have said many times on here, 1995 was my big year in the hobby as I became deeply involved into it.

I was fortunate to open a good amount of this product in 1995 and even pulled my very first autograph card from it in Mike Mamula. The autographs fell one-per-box and there were over 120 to collect. I know this number because I am trying to do the impossible and chase this set myself. So far, I have roughly 25-30ish towards my chase.
Jeff Blake is one of my favorite adds so far.  He played for seven teams in his NFL career most notably with the Bengals. I think this card is considered his autograph rookie even though he played for the Jets prior to arriving to the Bengals.

I have always liked the card fronts for these autographs since they feature action photography and on card autographs. We don't see action photography autos anymore.

The back of the card features a small write up which is kind of lame, maybe this is where Panini gets it from :)

If you are curious on my chase or have some of these I don't, see my checklist HERE. Let me know in comments if you can help!

*yawns before finishing up tonight's post*

So far this segment has been disappointing in terms of views, comments and lack of interactions. I may not continue it much longer. But, if you would like to join in on the fun for 90's On The 9th to keep it going, there is still time. Just post a card on your blog or on social media tagging me and remember to use the hashtag #90son9th.

Hope everyone has a great night sleep. I am heading to bed now so I can wake up for some coffee.

*yawns again*

Unfinished Cup:1995-96 Flair Hardwood Leader

I have my coffee, my cards and my laptop fired up.

You know what to do...repeat as me and let's do some Cards Over Coffee!!!

*takes a sip*

I have found these Unfinished Cups to be helpful for my set chases over the years. Not everyone of these has led to me some help, but some have.

And every little help counts. I know I don't like leaving anything unfinished, coffee or cards.

So, I plan on posting these to see if any of you can help me finish these sets up. It also helps give me some posts on here as well though I don't always like doing post fillers.

Today's set I am ever-so close on finishing with only four cards remaining of the twenty-seven needed.

1995-96 Fleer basketball had a one-per-pack insert called Flair Hardwood Leader. 1995 Fleer included one-per-pack Flair inserts into their base products across multiple sports that year. I think it was a way to fully introduce the Flair product line.

The Hardwood Leader design was my favorite one. Especially since it felt like a high-end card product at the time with thick glossy cardstock.

I have been chasing this set ever since and have narrowed it down to just needing 12, 20, 21 and 23 for a full set completion.

If any of you have them, please let me know! Either comment below or drop me an email to sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Thanks and hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Unfinished Cup:1999 Topps Chrome Lords Of The Diamond Refractors

Coffee, cards and a fun card today! Sounds like a perfect time for Cards Over Coffee!

I have come to the conclusion that I must have some form of ADD in the hobby because I can't focus on one project and I am always onto the next.

It would be nice just to finish one.

But, here I am again with another new set chase and another tough one at that. Hopefully I can finish this one.

*takes a sip*

My latest chase came to me when I was sorting out my Ken Griffey Jr's and came across a card that stuck out to me. I had forgotten all about one of my best pack pulled Griffey card of the 90's which was the 1999 Topps Chrome Lords Of The Diamond refractor. It's the only Griffey refractor I even own actually.

But, after seeing it again and all of it's beauty, I thought to myself, how hard would it be to chase this set? I already own the Griffey which is the best one.

And that's how a set chase was born.

1999 Topps Chrome Lords Of The Diamond refractors have a 15-card set and fell 1:24 packs.

They are shiny, die-cut and have a fairly nice checklist of players.

So far, I own three of the fifteen.

Here is what I need,
2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11,12,14,15

If any of you have any I need, let me know! You can comment below or drop me an email at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Unfinished Cup: 2023 Donruss Rookie Sweaters

Coffee is really hot this morning, but I am ready anyways for a new post on Cards Over Coffee.

I will let the coffee cool down for now.

With each holiday season since 2020, Panini has released a second Donruss product and renamed it, Donruss Holiday. For the most part the football product is the same exact same product, the only big difference is each blaster comes with an Optic Red/Green parallel and a Rookie Sweater.

For some reason or another, probably my passion for the holidays, I became obsessed with the Rookie Sweaters and began trying to chase down the master set every year.

The master set includes 42 regular swatches and 8 dual swatches.

With the way finances have been, I am off to a very slow start to the 2023 Rookie Sweater set.

Fortunately, I was sent a RAK on Twitter, can't find the name in my messages anymore, and got at least the set started.

Here is what I have so far,
Kendre Miller

Stetson Bennett

Josh Downs

And that's it. So, three down, thirty-nine more to go. Plus, the eight duals.

If any of you have any of these I am missing, please let me know. You can keep track of what I am looking for on a spreadsheet HERE. I don't expect a lot more adds to this, but you never know what I can pull off for trades.

Well, my coffee has cooled down finally and I can take a sip. I need to get breakfast ready and maybe start preparing the next post which will be the final Christmas post. You better be ready to see what Wes sent me in the Top 15.

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Unfinished Cup:1991 Impel Laffs

Okay...so today's edition of Unfinished Cup was once a Finished Cup.

That's until this afternoon.

When trying to transfer my set on a sorting tray from room to room, the tray broke apart and my set of 1991 Laffs hit the floor like a rock. Except it was more like slow motion as my face watched them, like a cup of coffee spilling slowly like on the Bounty commercials, drop to the floor by their corners as I shouted nooooooooooooooooooooo.

My wife could hear me from the other room, she knew it wasn't good.

I dropped to my knees immediately trying to recover the set hoping that none or not too many got damaged on their trip down to the ground.

The good news is that most were safe, bad news was that some were not.

So, now I come on here seeking help to fill in the gaps of the damaged ones.

Which includes card number 1, Bob Saget. You can see from my picture the top left corner saw the floor hard on this card. Some others are worse.

And those cards are,
1,4,30,31,32,33 and 53.

Which isn't too bad knowing all 80 from the set fell to the ground, but still, they shouldn't have.

The damaged cards are fillers in the set for now until I get them replaced. My hobby OCD cannot allow a card set to be completed with damaged cards.

If any of you have my needs, please let me know! Comment below or email me at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Thank you!

Side note, if you don't know about the 1991 Impel Laffs set, the 80-card base set is built up of three TV shows from TGIF in the 90's. It starts out with Full House, moves to Family Matters and finishes up with Perfect Strangers. All three excellent shows.

Hope you have had a better Sunday than I have had, with the Giants losing again and this card tray fiasco, it's been a tough one. Not to mention waking up to a cup of coffee full of grounds.

Here's to a better Monday!

Unfinished Cup:2022 Topps Chrome Heart Of The City

I have my coffee and I am ready for today's newest post.

I have been spending a lot of time trying to fill in set needs from sets I have started, but never finished. Though I haven't finished a lot of them, I have made some progress towards them.

One of those sets is 2022 Topps Chrome Heart Of The City.

These inserts fell 1:6 packs and features an impactful star player and the city he plays in.

I knew I wanted to chase the set once I added the Aaron Judge card to my PC. It looks spectacular and I like the design and idea for the set.

So, I added these ones as well,

But I am still 7 away from completing the 15-card set. One of the cards isn't featured because it hasn't arrived yet.

Here is what remains for my wants, the ones crossed out are obviously ones I already have.

HOC-1 Bryce Harper - Philadelphia Phillies
HOC-2 Miguel Cabrera - Detroit Tigers
HOC-3 Barry Larkin - Cincinnati Reds
HOC-4 Pete Alonso - New York Mets
HOC-5 Freddie Freeman - Atlanta Braves
HOC-6 Juan Soto - Washington Nationals
HOC-7 Jose Ramirez - Cleveland Guardians
HOC-8 Josh Hader - Milwaukee Brewers
HOC-9 Tim Anderson - Chicago White Sox
HOC-10 Whit Merrifield - Kansas City Royals
HOC-11 Matt Olson - Oakland Athletics
HOC-12 Max Muncy - Los Angeles Dodgers
HOC-13 Aaron Judge - New York Yankees
HOC-14 Jose Altuve - Houston Astros
HOC-15 Rafael Devers - Boston Red Sox

If any of you have any of my remaining needs, please let me know in comments!

Also in comments, let me know your thoughts on this set.

Hope your weekend goes great! Have an amazing Saturday.

UNfinished Cup:1995 Topps Air Raid

*coffee is hot, the only kind of coffee I like. sits down, takes a sip and gets ready for a new cards over coffee*

I know some of you were hoping for the next post in my Trip Of A Lifetime, but, I thought I would mix some cards in with those posts so wanted to tackle my next post in my Unfinished Cup series.

Today I am showing off the 1995 Topps Air Raid cards.

These cards were inserted 1:20 packs in 1995 Topps Series 2 and features 10 of the greatest QB/WR combos in the NFL. Somehow the Giants made this set with Dave Brown/Mike Sherrard, I am not complaining though, just sayin'.

The card features a shiny attractive front.

And the back features some bombs away! Football bombs that is.

This Elway/Sharpe connection was quite a lethal one back in the 90's. This card was also my latest one towards the set which I am now only one card away from completing. I am in need of the Troy Aikman/Michael Irvin card which is oddly also the last card in the set.

Do you have my final card? Let me know!

Thoughts on my latest set chase welcomed in comments.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your coffee and your Monday.

Unfinished Cup:1996 Topps Turf Warriors

I have my coffee in hand and I am ready again for the third day in a row for a new post on Cards Over Coffee. I know my long break will be coming soon from blogging, so I am taking advantage of having some extra time this week to do a few posts.

Today, I am showing off another set I have been chasing hard since 1996 and have been adding more to of recent.

1996 Topps Turf Warriors fell 1:18 to 1:36 packs depending on what level of pack you buy. The cards feature an NFL Superstar and has a felt turf feel on the front of the card.

Remember when inserts had creativity?

*takes a sip wishing cards from today were as great as they were in 1996*

I opened a ton of 1996 Topps football, but didn't have a lot of luck in pulling these personally. I think I only pulled one which was Steve Young. Since then however, I have been wanting to build the set but it has taken a lot of patience. Some of these cards were a bit steep so I had to wait for some to be cheaper and nobody ever has these for trade.
Barry Sanders was one of those I had to wait on. Most were listed $20+ so when one went up for auction and I landed for less than $6, I called it a win.

Back of the card.

I went on a run with adding some of the top players after this Barry from the set such as Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Marshall Faulk and Curtis Martin to name a few.

Here are my remaining needs,
1,2,4,5,6,11,12,14,16,18,19,21

If any of you have any of these, please comment below or hit me up at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Below, comment your thoughts on these inserts and what your favorite insert from 1996 was.

Thanks for reading and have a great Wednesday.

Unfinished Cup:1995 Score Red Siege

*takes a sip taking a trip back to 1995 when the good times rolled in life and in hobby. takes another sip, gets ready for a new post on cards over coffee*

Welcome back to another Unfinished Cup, not something I ever personally experience. All cups are finished, unless they are segments for cards.

Today we finish up the conversation from my last post with another throwback parallel from 1995 that I enjoy. I think I opened more packs of 1995 Score football than any other product in my history of collecting. I even opened two boxes as an adult. I am not sure why, but I loved every aspect of the product including the "childish" looking base card design.

But, that "childish" base card design does look even better in red. Let's take a look 1995 Score Red Siege.

*takes a sip before moving on*

1995 Score Red Siege parallel cards fall 1:3 packs.

This set though is much bigger than the 1995 Summit Ground Zero one I spoke about in my last post. There are 275 cards in the set.

Here is what I have left,
1,2,9,13,14,21,27,36,38,42,44,65,67,70,71,77,80,81,83,86,108,118,124,127,128,129,130,133,134,145,
147,150,151,152,154,157,158,159,160,161,162,165,173,182,184,186,187,188,190,192,197198,200,201202,203,204,206,207,210,213,214,220,224,225,226,227,228,229,231,232,234,235,237,239,241,242,
247,251,252,253,254,258,259,260,261,265,269,270,271

If you have any of my needs, let me know.

Unfinished Cup:1995 Summitt Ground Zero

*sits down, takes a sip and a trip back in time with today's cards. let's get ready for a new cards over coffee. takes another sip*

1995 was a big year in sports cards for me.

It was the year that I fully got into collecting, even though I was collecting some at the end of 1993 and 1994.

But, 1995 is the year that really stands out to me the most. I remember two products specifically that I opened and opened and opened and opened. One I will feature in the next Unfinished Cup.

Today, I am diving right into one of my favorite parallels of All-Time, Summit's Ground Zero.

*takes a sip before moving onto showing off today's set*

Falling 1:7 packs, Ground Zeros sparkled like no other parallel at its time.

It was a parallel set that I have been slowly building since 1995 and have narrowed it down quite a bit for such a big set.

All that remains of this 200-card set is,
35,53,60,64,71,79,103,109,125,136,137,138,159,160,166,169,174,177,178,179,180,182,188,189,193,195,196,197,198,200

Not too bad.

If any of you have any help for me, please let me know.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

In comments today, let me know your thoughts on this set and if your favorite parallel set from 1995.

Have a great day!

Unfinished Cup:1998 Playoff Contenders Leather

*takes a sip. gets ready for the first new post of the new month*

It's October and baseball is still on. But my focus is and always has been football. Not that I still don't root on the Yankees, but football is always my focus.

Which is why looking at all of my set needs, most are football related.

And speaking of those needs, here we are with a NEW Unfinished Cup.

*takes a sip*

Today's set is from the 1998 Contenders product which featured a variety of different base sets including, the base (with autographs), pennants and today's cards printed on leather.

Back in 1998, I was able to open a few packs of the product without a lot of success in pulling the top rookies of Peyton Manning and Randy Moss, but the leather football die cut cards really caught my eye and for years I wanted to chase the set. Now I am.

There are 100 cards in the set to chase. I have quite a few but still need quite a few more including the two big ones.

Here is what I have remaining,

Unfinished Cup:1997 Ex2000 Fleet Of Foot

*with the temps down in the 50's and a cool breeze, it certainly feels like fall. thinking about needing a pumpkin spice coffee later as that is what today feels like so far*

*takes a sip of non-pumpkin spice coffee*

I have been doing way too many Coffee Break posts recently, I still have a couple of banger ones to post, but figured it was time to take a coffee break from a coffee break and put up another form of post. So here is my last Unfinished Cup in drafts. Read that again, it's my last one in drafts and not my last one.

Today I am tackling the die-cut uniqueness of what the 90's brought.

Let's take a look at my needs for the 1997 Ex2000 insert, Fleet Of Foot.

*takes a sip wishing it had pumpkin spice in it*

Fleet Of Foot was a die-cut insert of a cleat in the background featuring a colorful player in the forefront. These fell 1:20 packs of 1997 Ex2000 football.

Here is what they look like. Mark Brunell was one of the first ones I picked up as I never was lucky enough to pull one back in 1997.

I have completed a good chunk of this set, but still need the following,
1,2,6,7,8,14,15,17 and 18.

If you have any, let me know at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

*takes a sip before finishing up today's post*

There will never be inserts like the ones we got to enjoy in the 90's. Today's inserts are blander than a cup of decaf coffee without creamer. Otherwise known as just drinking water.

Your thoughts on today's insert set is welcomed.

Hope you have a fantastic Saturday.
